Crowd surfing
Stupid question but here goes.
Can you crowd surf a player if any of the push back options are on the field. I have always played that you can but the computer game says otherwise. What say you?
Also this is in the wrong place but when I play the cyanide game it will not allow me to blitz if I am stood next to the victim. how do I overcome this?

Re: Crowd surfing
There has to be no eligible empty squares on the pitch before you can push a player off the pitch.
As for the PC game - you need to manually click the Blitz icon before you move the player if the opponent is standing next to you.

Re: Crowd surfing
I think of it as a priority order. If you can choose any of an earlier option you must before chosing a later option
1) Empty squares (a loose ball still counts as an empty square)
2) Off the pitch
3) A player
So if any of your options are empty squares you must take it. Similarly if there are no empty squares, but off the pitch or into a player you must push off the pitch.

Re: Crowd surfing
One question, if you are blocking a guy with dodge and get a defender stumbles result, what order do you decide whether you want to use the dodge or not?
Is it before the the attacker nominates the square to move in, or after, or some combination of the two, i.e. if you push to this square I will not use dodge, if you push to that square I will use dodge.
It has some relevance to the sideline issue and I was unsure of the answer. I would go for the interactive Q & A answer, but would I be right?

I'd say that the wording implies that you decide prior to the push as it refers to the skill use first. I can't think of too many scenarios where it would happen though.DEFENDER STUMBLES: Unless the defender uses the Dodge skill he is pushed back and then Knocked Down. If he does use the Dodge skill then he is only pushed back. The attacking player may follow up the defender.

Re: Crowd surfing
Thanks, in the specific case I was looking at, it was a question of whether to crowd push or not, the game being PBeM. The block being by a player with frenzy, my opponent opted for my player to go down and then pushed him to a square where he would have moved along the sideline on a 2nd push.
Following Doubleskulls comment and re-reading the rules, he was probably right, glad I went along with him.
