Strong Arm?

Quick question, why is Strong Arm a trait? It lowers the band range by one, but doesn't affect passes that are already in the quick pass range. Lowering the band range by one effectively adds a +1 to all passes at short, long, or long-bomb range. However, if you took the Accurate skill, you'd add +1 to all your passes at all ranges. I'm assuming I'm probably missing something about it, so if anyone can fill me in, it'd be much appreciated.

Its something "physical" about the player. Like Nerves of Steel is also a trait. Not something that can be learned, but must be developed.

Strong Arm fits the trait mold. It's not really a skill, it's...well, it's a strong arm! You can't really teach your arm to be "strong."

That part I understood, but I thought there might be a reason in terms of game balance.

If someone wanted to make it into a skill, because they feel it fits better that way as game balance (most likely a house rule, I don't think it's off enough to warrant an official change), they could rationalize that learning the Strong Arm as a skill could indicated the developement of better throwing techniques, that allow them to put more power on the ball. The person with the literally strongest arm isn't always the person who can throw the ball the fastest or farthest, or the 'strongest' arm.

As a side benefit, it keeps the (Strong Arm, Accurate) combo in the hands ("on the arms"?) of a select few players.

It also keeps Stunty players from being able to take it and negating their throwing disadvantage. (Or this is how I read into it.
