Suggestions for Humans?

I'd like to do up a new Human team in Metal, but I don't really like the ones GW has to offer for BB. I've got the ol' plastic Humies, but when I painted 'em, I was really, really crap. Now, I'm more or less just crap, and think I could do a better job now that I've got a few painting techniques down.
Any suggested for decent looking ones? I wish I had 2nd Ed, but I don't. So any conversion suggestions or even a Non-GW line suggestion would be great.

I suggest converting a human team out of plastic...use parts from the plethora of GW regiment sets out there. They provide enough options to make lots of teams with different looks. Sometimes you can get these sets for a good price on ebay.

My next project is a Japanesse themed human team made out of Hundred Kingdoms, Clan War, Reaper and Phigs miniatures. Should look good when I'm done.

I said Phigs actually.
Unfortunately there are only four poses. I want a little bit of variety. But I will definitely be using Phil's stuff. I love his products.

You might also want to look at the Perry Miniatures range of samurai.

I got as far as converting a couple of throwers, then put the team on the back burner when I realised that samurai minis are tricky to paint because of all the armour details.

Actually its remiss of me to not have mentioned Phigs Desert Dogs and Valekries human figs. All excellent scultps.

you guys are right: the phil miniatures only have four poses... well, my team also has one monk from the old chainmail figures.

the warstore has these figs usually in stock, and chey are cheaper than GW
themes are playboy bunny style, nun style,and what i would call butch style
when i get the cash i want to order all 3 plus the elf team he has.
