So i've been out of the loop for a while, and wasnt in it for very long to begin with, but here's my question. Am i the only one who thinks the Skaven models are kinda sub par? They all have the same stances with just minor differences in padding. I like the second addition models much better myself, but is there anything on them being in the line up for being changed? or am i the only one who doesnt like them all that much.

2e skavs have always been hugely popular in their own right, not sure you can connect that with the 3e being sub-standard. (I quite like them myself, certainly better than some of the other 3e range.)

3rd ed. skaven are not better or worse than other 3rd ed. minis, but the 2nd ed. Skaven are far better. That's the problem...

I dont think they are the worst of the 3rd ed fig and I had to think twice but I do like the figs ... I think.

Skaven are the only team i have, so it isnt like i hate them-they just seem kind of, well, non-threatening and interesting.
ok, so maybe no one is shaking in their cleats that a skaven is going to kills them, but they do win games more often then not in my experience, but the minis i think make them look just as submissive as gobos

I like them, but as others said, not as much as the 2nd ed ones.

as you know, we don't have GW stores here, but when I was living in England I have a chance to buy the 2ed. models... but I prefer the 3ed. I add a couple of WH models to the team, and I like it more than the old ones. but, well, is only my opinion.

The 2e Skaven are some of the best BB minis made to date. The 3e ones are pretty good, but the look of the 2e ones is far better IMHO.

I like the Skaven models. I just wish we would see more mutant mini's for both them and Chaos. ( for those that don't have time for or that don't do so well with conversions ).

I agree. Just imagine a complete mutant team!

As I started playing BB with the 3rd edition, I'm usually not really fond of those "old" 2nd ed minis.
But the Elves and Skavens are exceptions for me, they are really nice.
The problem with the current Skavens minis is that they look too "Warhammer-like".

2nd edition skaven and elves rule.. the elf blitzer just rocks

gken1: I agree. No team can touch the 2nd Ed Elves, and the Skaven are not far behind. Still, considering all the crappy models in 3rd Ed., I don`t think the Skaven should be first on the list of "this team needs to vanish from store shelves!" It really is one of the nicer 3rd Ed. teams.

I gotta agree the 3rd edition aren't bad, its that the 2ed are so good. The fact that there are 16 different rats in the 2nd edition set as opposed to 8 in the third helps add variety. The 3rd just seems kinda plain.

Everyone loves the 3rd ed mice. No one likes the old ones, people will spit on you as they walk by if they see you field those pewter abortions.

In order to be cool you must use the 3rd ed figs. If you are unfortunate enough to own a full team of the old ones, let me know. I will help you out by letting you send them to me so I can help put a stop to their visual polution.
