my dungeonbowl project

Post by celticgriffon »

Hey everyone,

After reading Yggdrasil's project I decided to create my own Dungeonbowl board. It is mostly 2D but I have a few elevated sections.

Cheers,
Michael

Wow! That looks fantastic, such a great texture and a real feeling of rough-hewn stone passages. Reminds me of the mines of Moria. :D

Where are the end zones?

Sorry.. the picture isn't great. There was a lot of light coming in from my window. The lightened areas near the goal post like structures will be the end zones.

I have modified some rulesets from various sources I have found on the net. The center section is 8x12. The line of scrimmage and the end zones will be 6 squares wide. I splurged last year to buy some foam cutting tools because making scenery is a blast.

I have added some magnets to the sections to help hold the pieces during play.

I used grout and coffee to texture the foam. There are about 10 colours dry brushed after the black base coat.

I may highlight the los and end zones in a light light blue.

I just have to make a few chests and traps and the teleporters and it will be ready.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone!

OK, I think I see it. So the end zones are placed in kind of like a normal pitch in the middle of the dungeon, but then the idea is that the players have to leave the normal area and venture out into the dungeon passages to find the ball? Very cool.

I request more close-up pictures and for you to post the rules you have come up with! :orc:

All Star Dungeon Bowl v5.doc
I am going to use the dungeon for our upcoming Annual All-Star Game.

Here are the rules I have cobbled together from various sources.

Cheers,
Michael

Very cool and interesting!

Just skimmed it, but I like the idea of confined spaces where only stunties can fit in, and I especially like the idea of spider webs, where you can risk getting stuck in a square and not being able to move away. :orc:
