It's not the size of your Mummy...it's how you use it.

After seeing the new
Franarcilla Mummies coming out from Willy there has been some discussion as to just how big Mummies should be.
Personally, I believe if it's ST5 then it should look ST5. Quite frankly, I don't really give a rats ass if it's completely unrealistic that a mummy be that size. I want to see some meat on those bones. However, I know there are a number of folks that have stated otherwise and I was interested to see what the rough outcome would be from the opinions of a small chunk of the community.
Now obviously this poll is completely subjective and based on nothing but your own opinion, so just have fun with it. Comments are welcome, of course.

I'd like my mummies to be ~ST4, clearly bigger than the other weak chaps, but not in the big guy size range. Unfortunately most of the classic 1980s Citadel mummy range, while lovely models, are in the 25-28mm scale, making them about ST2

I spent ages looking for a pair of Mummies for my new Undead team that fit the bill of bring ST5. Ended up having to convert both, as I still feel no-one does a suitable one 'off the shelf'. The Goblin Forge one came closest, but was still a little on the small side.

Do you mean 'you're AN idiot' for the last one? Hmmm.

.Tempting but no, I like mummies to be big, between st 4 and 5... Just solid enough to beat up an ogre when required.

I would say that Mummies should look strength 4 as strength 4 is sort of the upper limit for humans (e.g. Griff. Zug would be the exception). Its strength 5 is presumably coming from some sort of magic. But I wouldn't have a problem with someone fielding "Big-guy" mummies. It'd probably serve as a better reminder NOT to mess with them!
On the other hand, I like the idea of Ushabti type things as Tomb Guardians. Maybe not ushabti as they're a bit spindly but something similar in height and style.

Nice one. I actually spent a second thinking, "But I abbreviated it....YOU'RE...YOU ARE. I didn't write 'your'. What is this guy talking a.....OH S#!t!"
Corrected.

I don't need ST5 mummies as i will built a dwarven undead team using both greebo dwarf mummies, greebo dwarf zombie(s) and willy dwarf rotter(s), some dwarf knights as whight and i just still have to find suitable dwarven ghouls minis

Why isn't it possible to change your vote?

I remember there were classic chaos dwarf lords that had a mutant dwarf with a hooded cloak and bestial face with sharp teeth. I always thought he’d be a good basis for dwarf ghouls but without the cloak.
Back on topic, there is a big difference between mummies and tomb guardians now in my eyes. I see tomb guardians as animated statues, a mixture of bone and magical machinery. Since a mummy is a dead human wrapped in bandages they should look smaller than a normal man, but that is kind of lame.
So I think ST4 is the better compromise for a model that can be used as both. Ogre size (modern ogres, not 2nd edition ogres) would be too big though.

Now here's an interesting point. They are no longer "mummies" but for Khemri, but are ijn fact referred to as Tomb Guardians. That definitely could play to the ST5 "big guy" type model. I can see folks going for that. I'm personally not as much into the Warhammer lore and look at "tomb guardian" to be synonimous with mummy because that was the original intent until it was rewritten to closer match GW's range. So I just prefer the tradition Egyptian style mummy much like the one's Willy is now slated to release.
I would concur that a mummy is typically a dehydrated human corpse so would therefore likely be more realistic at a smaller ST2 type scale, but that doesn't go along with the theme. And seeing as the entire game is a willing suspension of disbelief, I still want "big guy" mummies too.

My initial thoughts were that mummies are just bandaged humans, so shouldn't be too big, their strength is magical, not physical. Then I remembered Mum-ra, the ever living, whose decaying corpse was transformed by ancient forces of evil into a muscle bound monster. And now I want a Thundercats themed team.

As for vampires, a mummy was a human before. So, level size, I'm not looking to have mummies much larger than a human.
And in general I do not rely on strength to determine the size of miniatures that I use, but rather on skills (stunty...) or designation (a big guy must be big!).

Personally I prefer mummies to be normal human size, their strength comes from the type of undead they are, not muscle and size.
