Leaping Wardancer WIP

I wanted to do something after the style of Airus' Wardancer:
I do plan to do my own version of his conversion, but I had a play with some bits to come up with something of my own - here are the results:
I can't claim to be the best greenstuff user in the world, but it's passable. Not too shabby first attempt at a hand either! I still need to tidy up a few parts and get rid of some flash I missed on the legs, but otherwise it's ready for painting.
Parts:
Torso - old Jes Goodwin Wardancer
Legs - current Harlequin Troupe Master
Left Hand - Eldar plastic grav platform crew
Slow human being duped - classic 2nd ed Blitzer
Hope you like!

Damn. That does look nice. I'd love to see someone make a pair of this on those clear jet bike stands so they can be used in a game. Also they'd have to make a couple of fallen down ones to use appropriately as the stands would make lying them down impossible.

That is sweet! Does the model(s) balance okay too?
Might try something similar in the future myself.

Thanks everyone! I did some work on the Wardancer last night - he's pretty much finished bar a bit of cleaning up and the armour studs which I forgot to do! Any suggestions on a colour scheme for the Blitzer? My friend has a classic Reikland Reavers team, but I think there's not enough contrast. Maybe red and black or yellow and black?

I reckon I can use him easily in a game (as long as no-one minds a human Blitzer in their Orc or Skaven team

The model is 46mm high - much shorter than my Treeman and I think you could work round it. That said, if some-one wants to produce a similar miniature, I'd buy it!
GreyKnight wrote:Does the model(s) balance okay too?
The model balances fine on a flat surface, it can even stand on a sloped surface:
The Blitzer is much heavier than the Wardancer by virtue of being a massive lead model, compared to the Wardancer which is 50% pewter and greenstuff, 50% lead. To make sure I weighted the base with some spare sprue:

SWEET!
Yeah I agree the Human needs to have some red to balance out. What about the old 2nd Edt Middenheim Marauders colour scheme? The red & white check pattern?

would there be an enormous objection if i tried to borrow some ideas from you? its a brilliant conversion, and i need a second wardancer

Very nice conversion.
Just will look wrong when playing against pretty much any other team.

I do like that scheme - especially some of the painted figures which are more red and bone

Go ahead - feel free, I'd love to see what you can come up with. If you can improve it and do something fancy with magnets, even better

My original ambition was to make it interchangable, but I chickened out on trying to sculpt the hand without any support. Maybe version 2 will be more advanced
