How about all of the above
I paint them, eventually. It only took me about 6 months to "finish" my High Elves, the previous Orc team took about the same. This is with doing no other painting at all.
I don't enjoy painting at all. I find it dull and boring. However I really prefer playing with painted minis so force myself to do it.

I'm not sure I would play this game if it didn't allow me to paint minis.

Mine always get painted...eventually. I'm actually one of those so-so painters that ends up spending 6-8 hours on each mini until I'm happy with how it looks. I enjoy converting more than painting at this point, just because painting takes me so damn long, heh. I'm just starting to work with green stuff though, so I'm sure converting is going to take me just as long (if not longer) from now on
Results when I do get the figs done though are pretty decent =)

I paint, but slow. Usually I need some time off to paint, which I got at the moment. My first child was born last week so I havn't been at work for quite some time now.
Perfect oppertunity to paint my Skaven team! Just a few more days and I got all the bases flocked and everything.
I like my baby alot. He is quiet and sleeps most of the time.

Hey, i always paint my minis!
Just today i have finished to paint my new ogre! And my original deathroller (i have just one converted, but i have found one original... I had to buy it!).
Many players don't paint his tema but this is a problem in every league i think.
Soon i can post the pictures of my two new players if you want to see them!

seems like we are all slow painters, me too...I take a day or so on each mini if I'm in the mood...the plastic human team with BB I forced myself to paint in 12 days off over X-Mas.....the Orcs remain semi painted about 4 so far. Guess its also fear to....nothing worse than spending ages painting a team and someone else has created an "amazing" team and you feel like:-
a) starting again
b) sending them your team to paint

I always paint, but not a good painter, but I believe a painted mini looks way better than unpainted. Most of the time it takes me awhile to paint, but sometimes I get on a painting spree. Right now still have Khemri team primed and waiting to paint (for about a month now).

Hum, the main problem I have with painting, except the fact I have a huge lead under the bed, is I'm not a pro painter, far from it , never satisfied with his work, and reaaaaaaaaaaalllllllllllyyy slow . SO it takes me weeks in order to complete a team; to be frnak, I would play more different teams in tournaments or leagues, but I haven't enough painted teams for it
