I've had these photos a while, but seeing Pug's Orc Team has spurred me on to post these here - Also photographed by The Ginger Ninja (Stu White at Maelstrom Games):-

The whole team:-

fully agree, love the conversion work on the wights and one wolf to make the team look different.. why didn't you convert the zombies too though??

Cos I'm lazy :P

No, actually, cos I only had 5 evenings to stick them together, convert them and paint them before our league started.
To try and tell them apart, I gave them each a slightly different colour wash to put a hue on their skin (if you look close you can see some are purpley, some are bluey and some are greeney) :)

Thanks for the comments!

you're not lazy - the paint work alone tells me that.. I beheaded all my metal zombies and replaced their heads with various plastic ones and GS hair.. took 20 mins per mini.. bending arms takes 20 seconds...

go on, you know you want to..

Wow, they look absolutely stunning. I really like the colour scheme, I find it very distinct and original. Great work!

Maybe one day I'll go back to them after I've racked up a bit more experience with Green Stuff - I've also got a massive backlog of stuff to paint at the mo!
Altering the pose on the werewolf was the first time I've tried using GS, so I kept the modelling to a minimum rather than try to over-reach.

Small steps, as they say :)

I visually appreciate the wight colors/conversions as I always thought those models were some of the worst... but yours look quite nice....

And I can really appreciate the poke at granny (all gw figs) .... Ungrateful, indeed....

Yeah I've never been a fan of the GW wights - one of them in particular looks like a badly drawn Judge Death from the 2000AD comic. I wasn't really hugely impressed with the werewolves either, but I managed to get hold of them cheap, so I bought em!

Like I said above, if I'd had more time I would have probably spent longer converting them and such, but I hate playing with unpainted figs :)

Again, with the wights, I couldn't really use the yellow/blue scheme without making them look like skeletons in jump suits, so I decided to paint them mostly black, highlighted in several layers up to grey. Then gave them a glaze of purple, and picked out each of the highest points with a blob of pure white so they look metallic. Just a case of painting one shoulder pad yellow so they have some cohesiveness with the rest of em - I was quite chuffed with the results

Again, thanks to everyone for your positive comments!

I've just bought and painted two Mummies from Goblinforge, so that I can also field this team as an Undead team:-

Decided to go for a deep rotten brown look to the bandages, with a lighter brown hue on the skin, then bright blue spots for eyes, in the style of Death from the Terry Pratchett books :D
