Norse Ulfwerner & Snow Troll Models

Currently contemplating a new Norse team but a little put off by the lack of models for Ulfwerner/Werewolf and Snow Troll/Yehtee from GW. I know there are other options, but I'd like to keep the option to take them to the GT. There is a Yehtee figure from GW which looks alright, but would need a bit of work to fit on a Blood Bowl pitch and doesn't have any clothing for team colours. Can't even find any kind of werewolf figure on the GW website.
Anyone have any suggestions? ANy Norse players who have already dealt with this?

I use the GW Yhetee for my Snow Troll. The only conversion I did was to clip and file his sword. I got the model with one hand raised, so without the sword he looks like he's about to lay the smackdown on someone.
I personally don't mind him not having gear to paint in team colours, but if you do want that it would be a very easy green stuff job I think, just add a couple of armour pieces with straps - nice and easy straight forward shapes to form from the green stuff.
For the Ulf's, I now use some mini's from Westwind, but for a while I was using the official Werewolf from the Necro team. I'm not overly fussed on the mini to be honest but it did the job.

Ah, missed the Necro werewolf. That'd do nicely with a more appropriate paint job. I guess I'm thinking grey/white like a huskie rather than the typical brown werewolf.

Yeah, that's what I did on the Werewolf mini myself, went with a greyish fur colour rather than brown.

If it needs to be GW, people tend to forget the "troll" part of snow-troll (or Yehtee, now I guess

). I used an old 2nd ed. BB troll and added some green-stuffed fur on his legs and forearms and then painted the fig with cool blues and whites. Works well ,probably cheaper and fits better on the pitch than the "official" Yehtee.

My GW-legal SnowTroll is an older Warhammer Chaos Orge When i created him, the Norse Big Guy was an Ogre ... but he fits as a snow troll as well and looks good with the team. The only conversions are a weapon snip, some long hair and the shoulder pad with the horn (from a blitzer).
I've also used the Necro Werewolves for Ulfwerner. The models look more ST4 then ST3 anyway.

I use the old Beorg Bearman model with greenstuffed pads for my Ulfwereners. They're were-bears as opposed to were-wolves and are out of production, but may be available on e-bay.
GW offers a number of different troll and ogre models if the yhetee doesn't suit your needs. Also, ogre/troll bodies with head swaps might be an option to make for a more unique/appropriate look. (I'm looking at doing this, but forget which models I'm using.) Whatever you use, consider making some sort of round, flat marker to use on the pitch when the player is stunned/prone. Or buy one from Impact and the player number to each side.

Cheers, I'll investigate the Ogre/Troll options. The search facility on the GW site seems to be severely lacking, which was why I'd been looking for a few pointers.I've seen the Stunned/Prone counters, just wondering why you recommend them. Are the models too large when laid down or is it just to avoid damaging them?
Very nice model Tim, I like it.

Size. Especially when they have arms reaching over their heads and go down in the middle of three or four other models. I have a GW Yehtee model with one arm raised over his head; the model can take up two to three squares on its side. Sealing your models with a spray coat of Gloss Varnish (for protection) followed by a spray coat of Matte Varnish (to eliminate excessive shine) should be sufficient to protect from normal wear and tear. Other threads cover this in more detail. (Throwing your mini across the street because he failed his Wild Animal roll - again - may still cause some damage.)
Also, many models appropriate for Big Guys are top heavy. Consider adding weight to the base. Details on how can be found in other threads both here and on other sites like CMON. (Here too, Impact makes a specific product, but there are many other options.)

Ditto.

To me Ulfwerner always sounded a little like Wolf-Runner. As in Runs with the Wolves.
So I imagine someone more along Wolf Brothers in the Wheel of Time series, so I am sorry they changed their name to Werewolves. I would have liked to have them more Human with Wolf features rather than true werewolves.

I'm using this sucker as my Snow Troll (when I can add him to the roster).
Obviously required a weapons snip.

I got a couple of the smaller Wendigos to be my Ulfs, and will use an Impact! Ice Troll as the snow troll.

Should be perfect for ST4; I should be taking some miniatures pics sometime within the next few days, I'll try to get a size comparison shot of mine while I'm at it.

Sorry, didn't expect it to take me a full week, but here's (finally!) a size comparison shot. The two Wendigo figures are the two that came in the Wendigo Hunters Booster Pack blister I purchased. They really are the same size in relation to each other; one's obviously just crouching down lower than the other. However, shown between an average ST3 lineman and a ST5 big guy, I think they're perfect for ST4 Ulfs.
