BloodBowl Blog : Chaos Team 14/3/10

I've got a load of bloodbowl teams on the go at the moment (some commissions, some just for my pleasuare), so I thought I'd show you what I'm working on at the moment.

First up (another) Orc team, made up of bitz left over from this one (http://www.talkbloodbowl.com/phpBB2/vie ... highlight=)

A test Orc - I wanted to create a dirty, bloody, grimy, rusty Orc. I've used bicarbonate of soda on the metals to create the rusty texture and I've added gloss varnish to the base to create a muddy effect:

And here's a load of his mates who (when painted) will be joining him in the line of scrimmage (you can see the bicarbonate of soda here):

(the one on the right's a ball carrying thrower)

I've also been working on a commission for a goblin blood bowl team. These fellas are finished (I've still got the second half of the team to do):

And finally, another commission I've started work on - a chaos blood bowl team. Here's some wips of the beastmen:

Any feedback appreaciated. That's all for now!

I'm making a Chaos team right now and your beastmen poses look great, makes me wish I could start over.

Those beastmen look superbly posed. Are they WFB figures, I don't recognise them? I'm thinking of using some bloodletters instead of Beastmen on my Chaos team cos I don't like the GW minis, but I'm having a bit of a rethink!

Also, I love the blue on the orc's back - what did you use?

Love the beasties.

Dont really like the combination of purple and pink on the otherwise good looking ogre-team.

I like the purple and pink personally, goblins are cool enough to pull it off.

Overall gorgeous painting, would love to see any more you have to show.

Those are conversions from the plastics in the current WHFB Beastmen Regiment box:

Nice job with the poses and conversions, [bane], they look good.

I think the blue is hawk turquiose, highlighted up with codex grey. Here's a few more pink and purple gobbos I painted up today:

Looking great, that Gobbo team!

Would you mind sharing how you did the flesh (painting) from the orc on the top of the page (the number "I"), and for the gobbos in the gobbo team (I presume they are not the same colour)?

Cheers

Actually the gobbos and orcs are pretty much painted the same way. Both start with:

White primer
Graveyard Earth undercoat (usually 2 thin coats)
Diluted brown ink wash
Graveyard again
Then highlights of graveyard with increasing amounts of rotting flesh
To finish - very dilute green ink wash.

The only difference with the gobbos is that they have a final highlight of elf flesh on their noses!

Hope this helps!

I have a few commissions lined up at the moment, but won't take much longer to finish - so yeah I can take on some more work. PM me.
