As long as you don't mind the bases going, you are fine. Those miniatures are metal, so a bath in Nitromors not affect the metal but will strip off the paint. Just take them off the plastic bases first, which will most likely destroy the bases in the process. Enjoy the team. If you win the team and need a few round slotta bases, send a PM I can post a dozen or so to you.

Nitromors is the way to go, it'll strip the piant of the models in less than an hour, you'll have to have an opld toothbrush to rub the residue of, and beware cos the damn stuff burns. it wont harm the metal, justy take of the old bases you might even be able to re-use them.

I stripped quite a lot of minis and never lost some details.

But i was in for a surprise sometimes, too. Sometimes i never expected so much detail of older minis under all those levels of paint and sometimes i just saw after removing the pain/ primecoat how much details were gone BEFORE the mini was primed !

BTW.. I using a old tooth brush to remove partly removed paint spots. Maybe you have to be a bit more careful using this tool if cleaning OLDmetall minis as this metall is more plumbiferous and softer than the metall of the newer minis.

Is nitromors a brand name or is it the chemical name? Can someone look on the can and tell me what it is? We have nothing called anything like that here.

Methyl-ethylkeytone, Naptha, Acetone, these are chemicals I know. I'd like to give Nitromors a try but don't know where to look.

Having done this a lot at home. Pine-Sol is the USA equal to Nitromors for this job.

I use a small compartmented fishing tackle box. Put the miniature in. Pour Pine-Sol to cover. Soak for 24 hours. Use a Reach toothbrush and some water and the paint comes off very easily.

Yeah, nitromors. Stick the minis in a jar, shake and leave for an hour. Remove, give them a quick scrub and, if there's still paint in the crevices, stick them back in again (this saves a lot of effort).

I've also heard good things about brake fluid, although I've yet to try it. Apparently it doesn't eat through plastic so it'll leave bases intact and can even be used to strip plastic minis. BUT, I've not tried this myself, so don't blame me if it doesn't work. I'd be interested to know if anyone has tried it (successfully or otherwise) though.

Is Nitromors another europe only product? If so anyone know what the US version might be? I've had good results with letting them soak in pinesol for a day or so, but half an hour... that'd be GREAT!

tried Brake fluid, worked to some degree but still left some residue in the harder to get to cracks, didnt melt the platic though.

you can see the paint begin to bubble within about 20 seconds, but to be safe i'd leave it for about two hours.

i used furniture paint stripper and it works in minutes to take paint off metal minis

does a good job of messing plastic up as well

my eyes did sting after a while though so i would do it outside and don't use the same toothbrush you clean your teeth with
