Pulled from http://www.mohr-paint.de/index.htm , the page of the pro-painter known as "Mark" at coolminiornot. He has posted this troll there also.

Very nice. He's set pretty far forward on the base though. Minor nitpick, otherwise he'd be faultless.

Yes, I agree. Should watch out that the paint does not chip at the front of the feet.

Actually, I'm not fond of his skin. Trolls require odd skin colours IMHO. The pic is mislabeled as "ogre", so maybe this is suposed to be an ogre...

 Would that make him Ogre 4 then?

I actually really like the skin. The brown with the grey pimples looks great. I see what you're saying though. Trolls can be unusual colors and this one looks pretty normal. The technique looks flawless tough and that is really what I'm looking at. I like a little bit of color on my BB teams. They aren't skirmish fighters, they play a spectator sport. A Troll's skin can be used to that advantage. Not everyone feels that way, though. Oddly enough he has ginger hair like mine. What's with pro painters putting red hair on these guys? :D

Call it as you will, you have a great looking mini there, Even if it does look like your Troll is all cleaned up and ready for a night on the town.

Just a thought: I know that this painter is painting minis for a guy I know, who has acquired a Troll#3 recently and who knows my BB gallery where your Troll#3 painted by Norse is displayed.

(Not only the ginger hair, also the B/W chequers on the shoulder pad and the hand/glove on the base) 8)

oh god, I'm a trend setting fashion designer sweetie!

well, I have to be honest and say I really like this Troll 3... the skin is very well done, and he does have more "humanoid" features than the other trolls, so it looks good. I would like to have seen more colour on the armour though.. just black and white is a bit too monotonous isn't it??

also, Orcs do not have red blood...

I admit my knowledge of WFB/40k fluff is limited but I thought they DID have red blood? I thought the green skin was due to spores (their method of reproduction) but their blood was essential the same as human blood?

I think the colour of Orc blood changed from time to time in the WHFB fluff.

The spores are definitely 40k though!

true, GW did an about turn a year or so ago and said Orc blood was red although they had always maintained green in the past...

this was basically because Andy Chambers had Orcs/Orks and liked painting red blood everywhere because it was a good way of covering all the f*cking awful painting attempts which featured in WD each month...

not that I'm bitter....
