The LotR-trolls hasn't been very good for BB-conversions so far, but maybe this one could do the trick?

I suppose that right hand would have to be replaced though.

Would be great as a Troll Slave on a Chaos Dwarf team. Right hand would need some work though. :-?

The armoured Troll looks more promising.

How about using the witch king as a Chaos Warrior though?

Nice.

By the way.... [threadjack]

The trolls are one of the few things done well in the movies.

According to Day, Tolkiens trolls are "twice the height of the tallest man" which is really well portrayed in the films. The MERP rules for example display them to be very much shorter, IIRC, which makes them seem less like the hulky monsters they ought to be in Tolkien mythos.

However, Their stony origins are not well portrayed. Day stresses that both the ordinary trolls and the Olog-Hai have a skin of stone scales in Tolkien mythos, and that would've been a nice addition to both the film and the figures, instead of the slightly frankenstainish look of some of the trolls.

Oh, forgot:
I used the finnish translation (by Kersti Juva) of

'A Tolkien Bestiary' by David Day (c) Mitchell Beazley Publishers Limited, London 1979

And one more thing:

Yes, I'm a purist what comes to Tolkien. So?

Actually that troll would be perfect, minus the weapon, lowered to a 3 point stance, and with shoulder pads.

What about the Witch King as a wight?

As for the trolls. I don't know. Their skin looked pretty stoney/scaley to me. It certainly didn't look like they were bathing in Oil of Olay!

I'm not sure, I have to admit. Have to watch the special editions on dvd some day and check this extremely important detail.

I like him. Tolkien trolls in the film were cool, and I admit, I couldn't help think "man, that cave troll would be cool on the LOS as long as he passed his damn bone head rolls."

I'd also love to be able to use the Uruk-Hai figs for something, but I hear that they are smaller and wouldn't be able to be used as conversions for something. Maybe we need an Uruk-Hai team. I just loved the way they looked in the films and want some way to get 'em out on the pitch.
