Hey Norse! Thanks! I completly agree with you on the white shading, I kinda have an excuse though :P
When I started on the orkses I'd been away from the hobby some 10 years, and I'm not all that stoked about my orks now a year later, I see a lot of things I would have done differently these days, painting pretty much daily. Maybe an update is in place before the new season starts in a couple weeks, who knows :)

The Troll, never been a favourite with me either, I don't like the model and the skin color wasn't really thought through, that's another thing I'm looking into in the coming month, a completly different model (accepting tips on a fitting troll)

Thanks for pointing out those things, much appreciated, and they will be looked into for sure.

And yeah, no bragging rights when winning with orks I guess ;)

I think the troll mini is fine for goblins, but I wouldn't use him with Orcs or Pact. I'm not quite sure I can put my finger on why actually, I guess some Trolls just look like they are made for stunty teams (like this fella) and others look more like they belong on bash and smash teams..

I use a Ripper as the Troll for my Orcs (because I never use him as Ripper obviously), but you may also want to check out the trolls by Franarcilla. They are very much along the lines of a GW stone troll (I mean the classic blue look, not the more recent grey variety) but with a good dash of character thrown in. The Neomics and Black Scorpion Trolls are all "stunty" trolls to my mind, as are the new GW river trolls.. I would love to see some decent conversions and paint jobs on those river trolls, but I doubt they would ever look "Orcy" enough..

Really hard to pick a troll imo, even tho Ripper IS nice... I might try and get a hold of him...

While making different re-roll counters and such, I made a Star Player, who I might never use, but he's fun...

I've been meaning to convert a Ugroth for a while now. Perhaps this will inspire me to get on with it. Nicely done.

After being the victim of a OTS on turn one, I decided I needed that option as well, so here he is.

Heh. So are you a Malmö fan or is it just coincidence (nor really dark enough blue for IFK Göteborg)?

Like them a lot. BTW - just to be contrary I love that Troll for Orcs. He goes beautifully with my 2nd ed guys. Not sure I like him for stunties though...

I am an IFK Göteborg fan, make no mistake... :) I tried a darker blue at first, but it didn't provide the contrast I was looking for (Evil orcs, bright colors) I love the light blue, and, as a bonus, imo it's a lot easier to shade and highlight than a darker one.

Thanks :) And the troll, still haven't decided on what to do, maybe all he really needs is a different skin color and a more worn armor.. We'll see!

Re: My Orcs - Rerolls + Doc (16/5-11)

Finishing touches, Rerolls and Apothecary. His surgeon outfit does not contrast to his skintone all that well, but I figured it was worth a try, I kinda like him anyway.
He's "clean" simply because I haven't had a CAS against me yet... ;)

A Leader reroll may be added as I get one, have some silly ideas.

Almost finshed with this team now, though I seem to find things to improve on constantly... ehhmm...

Without wanting to drag this too much off topic, some thoughts on the troll. Oddly I've recently ordered that same neomics troll to replace the GW 2e in my Pact team. (I love the mini, he scales well heightwise, fits on a 30mmm base and I think he'll be a perfect fit, plus it'll be another manufacturer added to the mix). So while I have differing opinions to Norse about suitability for Pact, that's a different discussion. Where I do agree with Norse is that the neomics troll perhaps doesn't 'sit naturally' with those particular orcs, and I'd second the suggestion to check out Franarcilla's troll(s). I have one, bought it for the Pact, but he's simply too large, doesn't 'fit' and just screams 'ORC TEAM' to me. I think he'd complement the team perfectly.

Back on topic, I love the coach, apo and reroll counters in particular, really impressed with the team as a whole, very nice work indeed. !)

Deathwing, all the comments are greatly appreciated, about my paiting/modeling or not, it's all apprecaited since I'n on the hunt, so to speak. I had a look at the Franarcilla troll, but I don't know, he seems really stiff, and I don't like the face, it lacks the subtle humor I think the GW orcs all have in a way.
I just picked up an old 2nd ed (i THINK) troll with the skinny limbs, gonne see if I can beef him up and add some armor and stuff, think it could work, and I hope that will fit better with my overall idea for the team. Waiting by the mailbox... :)

Your comments really warms my heart, again, thanks.

Sounds like you're bringing in the same troll model to replace your neomics as the one that I'm replacing with that very same neomics one. That's quite amusing, some kind of weird co-incidental troll ying-yang thing going on! :)

I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with it!

Franarcilla (which is Spanish for sculptor BTW! ) has about 4 different Trolls in his range - one of them is much more of a bruiser looking type, and very much inspired by the GW style, should fit very well after a weapon snip..

team is coming along very nicely Slackjaw, love the apo mini..
