Yeah I've seen it, it's just too large and feral looking for my tastes. Something about it just doesn't ring right with me. Ewan's is very close to what I like in a mini. :)
You're right. I'd rather have a casting of Ewan's fig.

Should give you some idea of scale (not allowing for the thickness of the base - add a few mm to height I suppose). I usually convert most things, so I have no idea of scale compared to the "new" troll or the 2nd ed R.O (sorry)

I broke the hands off to get better access to them and tried to do something more "troll-like" with the feet although I still have to define the fur at the feet. Does it work or should I go back to shoes?

Thanks to all for the kind words so far  Although, casting sounds like something beyond my means... :-?

Feet, not shoes! Trolls would spend all season trying to tie the laces!

I agree, feet sounds like the way to go - I think you could easily cast if you had the time - I assume that the time is the problem.

Its feet look rather wide apart - is it going to fit easiliy onto a 40mm base?

those feet are much better than shoes. The Right leg seems much better than the left one imo. maybe that plating/bandages (I can't tell from the angles :) ) should be a bit thicker at the top. Because the angle of the leg would make the knee protrude a bit more than it's doing atm. If it's plating then it would be a little more vertical than it is, if it's bandages then the knee would need a little defining.

Regardless, I love this thing.

Scalewise I Think it's smaller than Ripper, but looks similar in overall height to the BB troll (Which is hunched over like this one.) So it's going to be a perfect size for the job imo. Big enough to look mean, but not so large as to be unwieldy.
As PianoDan said above, are the feet ok on a 40mm?

That is one of the best sculpts i've seen. Amazing isnt it when someone who actually plays the game has to sculpt the models himself, they are able to capture the essence of the game so easily, compared to the normal GW casters who produce the most ridiculous and puerile poses.

Congratz Ewan one of the best of seen by far.

Put me on the reserve list for one ( or 2 )

ewam, im sureif you feel you wont be able to cast it, there will be others who will jump at the chance!

That mini is fantastic, ill say it again :) I dont mind the feet at all, but its a matter of personal taste, as for the rest of the mini :o

Just checked (no camera till next weekend) Yep, toe to toe, it fits a normal big guy round base. Phew!

It's plating on his left leg but I think I need to work on that somewhat till I'm satisfied with it. The problem is (to me) if I just make the left leg "thicker", there has to be a point where the armour is tight on the skin, in effect, bunching up the fur. Otherwise it would look like it is "floating" on the leg rather than strapped tightly on. It will just take a bit of time to get right.
