That's what these guys are all about, what you think an Ogre wearing orange and white should look like.

Is Ogre-sized armor hard to find? How many layers of paint would it have on it? I kind of picture them as scavenging the armor anywhere they can find it and painting it with any orang-ish paint they can find. That's what makes this project so fun to me and why they don't have to match perfectly. The cleaner Ogres may have had money to buy a new uniform or they just may be primadonnas. Maybe they're lazy. I try and rotate them all through the pitch and some definately get better rolls than others. They don't make it out to the next one. :)

For the record, Ruud, Norse's Ogre, is the only Ogre that has played every game that I've used these guys, about 20 or so, most of those tournaments.

that's sort of how I imagine them. this particular bloke is going to look like he's been in the scrums before. I've gotten another ideato add to him, but I'll save that until you get him. I think it will work well, if I can pull it off w/ greenstuff. Call that another tease. :P

I'm going for the crisp clean prima donna look, nice new uniform and no mud on my boy. Gobbo's going to be bright, I love that old 2e 40k look where the final highlight is a bilious green rather that the darker look people seem to favour nowdays. Besides it's a caricature style fig, deserves a caricature-style paintjob. :)

Hey DW, I love that look too. I can't wait to see your offering. The pics you sent long ago of the assembled and greenstuffed Ogre were great. I can only imagine what your brush has done to him.

Little bit of finishing paint wise, numbering then on to the base. Essentially the paint's done though. Gobbo is almost ludicrously bright, to the extent that he's almost the focal point. might tone him down slightly, tempted to leave him though. Have to decide when the basing is done and I get a final look.

How long have I been doing this now?

The ogre's finished. Finished his base yesterday morning before the football games. I think he looks pretty good, at least I hope he fits in and you like him. I'm going to get ready to ship him. I varnished him, but I watered the varnish down quite a bit and it has dulled the shine. Dated and signed underneath the base too. (So when someone asks who painted that piece of crap, you can turn 'im over and say--not me, lawquoter did!  ).

It was fun to paint him, and I'm excited that something I've painted belongs in a team with other figs painted up by the likes of norse, dw, and other great guys.
