I agree. When I was making mine and had arms that were up high enough that I couldn't attach the pad to the top of the shoulder, I kept it close to the shoulder but rotated it around to the back. Thinking about shoulder pads worn in American football, that's what happens with them. I never took back-angle pictures of my figures, but you can still see what I did with the guy on the far right here:

(The height designations in this pic were meant to show how I varied the heights of each figure to try and scale-match the real-life players they represent.)

I never actually finished these guys before selling them, but I would've used some putty to fill in the gap under the pad a bit, and smooth the torso/arm transition some more. Some day, I'll get around to re-doing mine... already have the new team's worth of parts for it, too. Just too many other projects lined up, first.

The catchers' 1-3 gloves dont work for me ... they make the arm too long (the hand should be inside the glove, right?). You should consider either cutting a part of the arm or the gloves. I think you did this with catcher 4 already, because he looks right.

Also some of the arm/body joints are a bit rough. You could smoothen these transitions with a bit of green stuff.

Hi Tim,

Thanks for rasing that.

I originally forgot to shorten the arms and the end results were quite comical, to say the least...

I did measure the distance between the shoulder and the wrist on each of the Catcher arms, compared to a "standard" arm, and recut and re-fixed them before taking these pics. The converted arms are the correct lengths, AFAICT. I think the bad impression comes from the length of the mitts, which are quite long compared to an open hand.

Looks much better on the models in RL... :)

Cheers,

Nestyr

Me too!
The only thing thats keeping me back from getting a team (for now at least) is all the pinning involved to be able to get those poses.
No doubt that the effort is well rewarded, still its a lot of arms, legs, and heads to secure into place.

Actually, not a single one of these has been pinned - just straight up superglue. Nothing's come loose yet!

I've been otherwise occupied painting up a Slann team, and finally getting some paint on some Phigs Imps to use as Snotlings, for my upcoming perpetual league season, anbd just because, respectively.

I will get back to these guys sooner or later...

Cheers,

I have a lot of display minis with superglue only (no pinning) and they're ok, but BBowl minis get a lot more punishment than "regular minis".
I mean, I'm quite carefull with them but they move a lot more than in other games (and stand on the pitch facing down and up), and other coaches sometimes handle them, and last but not least they get shot with die from time to time).
I suppose its not easy to be a BB mini, and with all those great and dynamic poses, I kinda feel I'll regret not having them pinned prior to having them painted.
Maybe its just me.

All my minis get used in games. They've survived so far - must be the varnish... lol
