Just to confirm, this was something on the BBGT '08 House Rules PDF file compiled by Andy Joyce. So those comments were published before the GT last year. I was just wondering if there was going to be a difference between US and UK Events Team rules - there has been before in other game systems.
This all might be a moot point if the teams can't play at the UK GT anyway, of course. If your conversion sprues are acceptable though, then they'd be the closest thing Blood Bowl has to an "official" Slann team for the forseeable future.

I understand that this is from last year's pack ... I'm saying that I ran the Chaos Cup last year for GW and their rules were majority of figure GW parts NOT 100% GW parts.
So yes ... it would be a difference between the US and UK on the rules for the Majors if they are serious about the figures not being able to have any non-GW pieces.

The other question is "what constitutes majority?" As I understand it, this pack will result in an miniature whose only GW part is the torso. Head, limbs, pads all are a third party. I could see GW saying "Nope ... only one piece is GW and everything else is a third party." Galak, did you by chance run your specific proposal by GW and have them pre-approve this before you did all of the work?GalakStarscraper wrote:I understand that this is from last year's pack ... I guess it depends on how aggressive they are.

Incorrect ... the GW piece will be torso and legs.Echo Seven wrote:The other question is "what constitutes majority?" As I understand it, this pack will result in an miniature whose only GW part is the torso.
That's the majority of the figure (as defined by GW in most of their guides as at least 51% of the figure being GW stock).
And yes ... talked with the folks at GW bunkers regarding if the torso and legs would constitute 51% of a figure (especially considering the length of a Kroot torso and legs) and the answer was yes.
However ... the Blood Bowl GT is a different beast. They've always done things over the top compared to any other GW tournament's rules. So I just cannot make promises.
As for the Chaos Cup ... I know for a fact that it is a 51% GW event for a figure to be legal so convert Kroot will be able to play this year as Slann teams at the Chaos Cup.
It was also my understanding (not 100% going to promise this) that this was the same ruling from the Dungeonbowl. 51% GW source ... to be legal.

tom, i understand you don't want a slann passer, but why not include a arm just holding a ball? i assume the slann will want to pick up the ball at some point in a match
just seems like a cop out not to include a ball arm just because slann don't throw...just my opinion. i'm looking forword to the kits.

My opinion (and Ramsay's) is that the only figures that should ever have a ball are Throwers.bound for glory wrote:tom, i understand you don't want a slann passer, but why not include a arm just holding a ball? i assume the slann will want to pick up the ball at some point in a matchjust seems like a cop out not to include a ball arm just because slann don't throw...just my opinion. i'm looking forword to the kits.
If you look at Impact! ... any figure that we've designed ... the only figures with a ball are the Throwers. (by we've ... look to see the sculptor has a * by his name if it isn't in the section for figs from other stores ... a * means we didn't design it)
It just our personal opinion on this. If the team is really popular and sells well we could look into it ... but its expensive to produce this stuff and we only get 4 arms on a sprue ... so we have to be selective on how the arms will look. We made the decision ... no Throwers on the team ... no arms holding balls.
