Thanks guys, it's been a labour of love!

About the interior/exterior, I'm probably just going to leave both as is (varnished plywood), although I did think about alternatives. It's actually quite a nice golden colour.

I thought about painting the inside edge like sky, or something, but in the end I decided I'd probably just bugger it up

And about Electronic dice, it's absolutely 100% possible. You can get dice kits and set them up to "roll" on a press of a button and put each LED to correspond with a certain number and block picture. The only reason I wouldn't use them is that I don't really have a problem with just rolling normal dice, and some people would be a bit suspicious of the randomness of them.

#1 example: Just look at FUMBBL

Im away from there 1-2 months, but boy am I not missing the ridiculous amount of whining about the random number generator!

Its a great pitch, most important thing is that you like it

Well as an Australian I would love to come, but sadly it's probably outside of my budget at the moment, especially with a bubba on the way :o

Anyone coming to CanCon or Eucalyptus Bowl in Australia in 2008 will see this in action though :)

If I get my brain in gear this afternoon after work I'll post the box dimensions.

I can tell you now that all I used was the simple brick mold (#40 or #100 for the smaller version) and cracked floor tiles (#203). I picked them because they were simple and versatile, since I knew I would be going for simple structures and didn't want to mess about with advanced plaster casting. I actually got the smaller brick mold to keep costs down, but regret it bitterly since it took probably three times as long to cast what I ended up needing!

Did you have time to check the measures???

I'm very interesting in doing a similar project, so I'll be very thankful for as much hints you could give me

Indeed I do sir, I found my original sheet with the plan so bonus points for not needing to re-measure the case :)

Image

Now that picture is from Rev's CMON guide, which is also good for instructions on putting the case together. My dimensions are no doubt different, but the basic idea is identical.

Everything is made using 12mm plywood.

Ok, the three large panels are 85cm long when assembled, with a 35/15/35 split. They are all 80cm wide.

The four smaller side panels are all 35cm long, 7.5cm high. The other two panels which form the top of the box when it's closed are 77.6cm long (80cm minus the thickness of the side panels) and 7.5cm high.

That gives a small amount of leeway on the board, and about 24cm of real estate on either side of the board for dugouts and turn tracks etc. So there is plenty of room to mess with the dimensions to suit your needs.

So as long as your dugouts are 7.5cm or lower the box will shut without a problem. If you put a structure on the middle panel (like my score tower), you need to be careful it will fit with whatever else is on that side of the box, so it all closes. I would have preferred the score tower on the same side as the dugouts, but then it wouldn't have been able to shut!

Gotta give you kudos on your board. Way to go taking it to a new level. I will have mine up in a month or so. Lots of casting. Similar ideas... but no electronics.

Again...great job!

That is a f*cking great pitch. You're giving me some good ideas. Mainly that I should buy a gaming mat from Impact! asap.

That electronic scoreboard is awesome, and I like the commentators.

It just looks awesome. I don't know what else to say.
