Wow.
Getting a lot of compliments on my painting. Fellas, I've gotta come clean...

I didn't paint these, 'The Dip' did. :)

True, I picked the color scheme and applied the basic colors, but The Dip did all the rest. (Well, besides some highlighting and touch ups here and there...)

The trick is I dip the models in a jar of tap water first, brief shake, then quickly into the woodstain. It seems to thin the stain a perfect amount. Not an exact science, but for these boys it worked out all right!

Yep, and here's some others from the same batch: (not pleased with how dark the elf came out, but for the amount of time I spent on it, I'm good)

I really like how the coach turned out:

IMHO, the dip is the greatest thing to happen to minis. I fall under the category of loving to convert, but hating to paint. I don't hate it enough to play prepainted minis games because I enjoy choosing colors and desire the overall 'look'to be somethin gI've created. Will I win awards? No, but I will be able to field the team I want to in the time I have.

tbh I'm half tempted to dip my Khemri team once I've finished base painting them.

Khemri are perfect for dipping.
A buddy of mine got a lighter sand colored dip, only primed them white, then a few basic colors on the uniform. They came out looking very cool.

You don't need to base paint anything. Before I prime the models (usually white to offset the darkening of the dip) I glue the sand/mixture on the base. Paint the model base colors, then dip. The dip will pool down into the base mixture and shade it. All I did afterwards was a light bleached bone dry brush on the rocks, then glue spots of flock. Basing done automatically. Sweet.

I rarely jump on the 'Nice Job' band wagon but these are a great set of minis. Great theme and uniform.

One thing. That Dark Elf ref thing. Possibly the worst mini i have ever seen (not your painting, the mini). Shame about that, other wise all gravy baby!

Very nice. I may have to borrow the lime green paint effect for my up and coming paint job on my chaos team "Draconian Witchcraft"
Just need to get the lime green and chaos minis and I'm good to go :D
