Cheers man, I wasn't sure they would pull together but I think it has worked out ok. I didn't think that a Necromantic team would be the neatest of teams what with Zombies and Wights as players so I thought the 'eclectic' appearance of the team would kind of fit into that kind of look.

I'm hoping to pick up a few more 'tourney-special' figs as I have had to use some GW Zombies to bulk out the numbers. Would be cool if I could make the entire team out of unique models...

If nothing else, you could do the "different races" zombie trick - where you paint players from other races up in zombie like flesh. There'd be some to pick from, Fondu's naked dwarf would look awesome in rotting flesh for instance. ;D

Yeah, what I did for my 2nd Wight, Ade 'Too Tall' Hall. I think the grey skin combined with the white eyes and no pupils did the trick...

I really enjoyed the Odd Squads first outing at Pearlies at the begining of the month, I managed 3/1/2 which I was quite happy with.

Now they go to France! Gizmo has been going through a weird 'molting' period so I have decided to replace him with an additional two Zombies. I have converted both tourney-special mini's, all I have to do is paint them. I will post pics as soon as they are finished...

So these models have been really rushed but at least they are finished; another couple of zombies for the team...

Now a bit of varnish (not shiny  ) and off to France tomorrow :D .

I completely missed these when you first posted them! They look great :D

I think that is the first time I've seen so many LE models painted in one place! I'm very happy to see a few of my sculpts in their ranks. 'Too Tall' has turned out very well as a companion to the Albion wight :)

Gizmo is possibly one of the most unusual figures you've got there... I got a few of him cast up at the same time as the model you used as a wight, but he was never officially distributed - I gave one or two away to be used as prizes at tournaments, but that is the first time I've seen one converted up for Bloodbowl.

Good job!

Well thanks for sculpting them up so I could get my greedy mits on them :P . If you have any more fantasy footy style models done then I'd really be interested in seeing them as your models do seem to feature nicely in this team... :D

There was a free mini at Rendevous, but it was a graceful and lovely lookin female Elf and I won't be able to use her for the team. I only managed 2/2/2 in my games over the weekend but I think it was mainly down to poor skill choices and rookie gaming errors  . I'm not sure but I think I'll use them at ThrudBowl or Newquay, see if I've learnt from my mistakes in France...

If anyone knows of any special tourney models, or indeed, just models that you think would suit my conversion style / the look of this eclectic team, by all-means suggest stuff. I'm mainly looking for models to use as Zombies to replace the GW figs but if you find a model (and a rough outlay of a back story) for a second Ghoul then post a link here and I'll see if it'd be cool for 'The Squad' :) .

There was a werewolf that I sculpted for the Albion Coast Cup last year, but it looks like you've got those slots on your roster filled already!

There may well be another sculpt for this year's ACC, and I imagine it will be very likely to have a Necromantic feel to it...

Fantastic!

Well recently negotiations regarding my possible visit to the ACC-06 broke down (some difficult business regarding an erstwhile cup of coffee outside a French cafe :P  ) but I do think it may be time for me to terrorise the local bouncer community again...

I saw your cool looking Werewolf but as you say I did already have those positions covered. All I'm really after now to finish off the team are some more Zombies and possibly a Ghoul-type of model (and this is clearly a very open catagory considering my furry Ghoul 'DT' in the current line-up).

We we see what turns up :) .

I really like this team - they still work as a team despite all the different styles of miniature. I don't remember them looking that shiny in real life though, must be the photography. Did you use flash?

Yeah, it is my poor photography that is to blame  .

Torpor visited Pearlies on the Saturday and took a couple of photo's with his phone-camera and they came out not shiny at all. I think I have been holding the camera too cloese to the mini when I am photographing them so the flash is ruining the final effect. I will re-photograph them (maybe this weekend) to see if it improves their look...

some more advices:

1. use as much day/sun light as possible. If not available use an array of lamps that illuminate the photo area. do not use flash, rather try pic post-processing (photoshop) to remove the grey haze that results bc of poor lightning. Flash will mkae your miniatures shiny, give light spots and make the colours washed out.

2. neutral background is essential, the game board is nice but not perfect. Best is to get a normal/large sized sheet of paper, place the minis on it and turn the end side of the sheet 90 degrees upside creating a backdrop with it. Voila a seamless neutral background.

3. Place the camera on the same height as the minis, you can put it on the same table for example or if there is not enough space use a pile of books to get the camera even leveled with the minis. Front pics are always better than those angled from above.

4. check out the best zoom distance of you camera. closest is not the best, sometimes you need to move the camera further away. It realy doesn't matter much when you use 3-5 megapixel cameras as you have to downsize the pics anyway. Most cameras have a best zoom point somewehere between 10-50cm.

all of these is easy to do and you get above average results.
