But with most you can convert some damn good figs from their WH40K range.
While I do not see anything wrong ith the curent DE range, I have decided to convert some 40k and WFB models into a second Dark Elf team. I have got the witches, Thrower, and Blitzers done. I just need to make up my mind on the line elfs.
And, if they ever do redo the Dark Elf team, I hope they do not use the same sculpter that did the new DE star player model. Phil, Chris Fitzpatric or Werner Klocke would be my personal choices to redo them.

Blood Bowl is WFB Football, not Football with a bit of generic fantasy garbage thrown in!
As for wood elves - might be better off leaving them from the production line if they all look like the new Jordel model..... Love the new Hubris Rackarth fig though
I am doing the same MistWraith. I am combining them with Phiggs Witches which my hero Lawquoter is sending me. The only thing I am having trouble with is the thrower. I have the pose but have not got him holding the ball well at all.

The new Hubris Rakarth model is incredible. If this is the new look of the DEs I'm in!
To me the Pro Elf team is lacking. The faces are all pock-marked and there are too many wrinkles for an elf team. I thought that elves were supposed to be ageless! Why have a pruney wrinkle-faced elf team?
High Elves are cool. I especially like the Lion Warriors, however I recommend getting rid of the skirts and the Cone helms and you would have a much better looking team.
Wood elves need better faces. All the models tend to have pushed in noses. On some of the line elf figs I received the noses were so flat that they were almost missing.
Regarding Chaos Dwarves. They look too cartoony. The CDBs are in very static poses. It looks like they are conscentrating too hard on balancing that huge hat on top of their heads. Get rid of the hats! The Hobbos are fine. I wouldn't resculpt them. The Bull Centaurs need to be made a little bit less cartoony as well and I would get rid of the hat and give them a more feral appearance. Maybe give them some wild flowing hair and a bared hairy dwarf chest.
It would be cool to have one of them in a reared up pose with two hooves kicking forward towards the opposition. Maybe have another one galloping with the ball under one arm and the other arm in a stiff arm position. The Chaos dwarves could be the coolest team with a little modification. Currently I have plans to convert the WFB Long Drong Slayers dwarf pirates into my Chaos Dwarf Blockers. I haven't figured out how to convert the Bull Centaurs yet, but I am working on it.
Just curious, what don't you guys like about the 3rd edition orcs? I love them! The poses on most are pretty generic, but the sculpts themselves are pretty good, no?
3rd ed. Orcs, well they look just fine, providing your into that mongaloid look A lot of us hate the CDs big hat look, having a huge noggin is just as silly!

Because the orcs are terrible models. They are both ugly, and badly posed. They are poor even by the standards of mid-90's GW models, let alone todays.
You can make much better ones from GW's WFB or 40k range. They are big, intimidating, green elf smashing machines. Not the weedy goofy looking blobs from the Blood Bowl line.

Well the new Warhammer Chaos Dwarfs are a great step in the right direction.
I saw them on the Warhammer 'sneak peak' section of the GW site, they were the crew of a giant Chaos warmachine, a kinda deamon-cum-rock-lobber with Chaos Dwarf crew. I think it is going to be released this summer as a new unit for the Archeon led army list.
Anyway, the actual models. Well it is a step in the right direction 'cause they have got rid of those God-awful hats!!!
They still have to put curlers in each night to get that 'just out of the salon' look for their beards but they definately look cooler without the silly-ass top hat style helmets.
Role on summer....

I like the big jawed orcs, and think they wre a significant improvement oer 2nd edition ones. I play orks in 40K too and those are good too, but you'd need that modeller to do the BB ones...and I'm sure he makes more $$$ sculpting for 40K and Fantasy.
I always thought of the Chaos Dwarves as having an inferiority complex over being short so they tried to compensate by wearing big hats, the way short folks sometimes where big shoes (high heels, etc.) I don't think they have craniums that fit inside those things or I'd hate tem too. But I Like them. I don't mind a revamp, mind you, just that they aren't terrible to me.

I know it may sound dumb to speak of "realistic" poses in a fantasy setting, but I just think the 3rd. ed. figs are lacking. Take the Orc thrower. Now I'm still trying to figure out how any creature that walks on 2 legs and has 2 arms could hold a football or any object like that.
I just got a bunch of widows from phiggs, and the Widow-ball carrier is more of what we need. More "athletic" poses, so to speak. Not snarling block heads flexing their biceps. I'd like to see a big overhaul on the models. And they'd be damn smart if they gave phil a ring.

Where are you guys seeing all these new Star Player models?! I'd love to look at them myself.
I play DE's mostly and would love to see a newly sculpted team. The WFB DE's look great, and the new style armor I think would look menacing for BB figs.
Anyone have links to all the latest BB fig news and pics? I would appreciate it!
