How to paint gems?

Hi there!

Some or all of you may know the Shadoforge female elves miniatures. Their sculpt includes tiny gems. How do I paint those to make them look shiny?

Somehow I can open the site of the paintingclinic.
Nonetheless I painted the gems and they look better than I had hoped. But I'm not a great painter anyway.
