Are there clear rules for Player Characteristics by now ?

Correct me if i missed something, the following should a complete summary of all rules regarding Player Characteristics.

Player Characteristics are Movement, Strength, Agility and Armour.

Player Characteristics can be modified by:
Star Player Rolls, Ageing Result Rolls, Serious Injury Rolls and Handicap Table Rolls

Traits that permanently increase Player Characteristics are:
Spikes (Physical) and Very Long Legs (Physical)

Traits that temporalily increase Player Characteristics are:
Horns (Physical) and Dauntless (General)

Handicap Table Rolls that temporalily increase Player Characteristics are:
Illegal Drugs

A Player's Characteristics can not be permanently increased by more than two points over the Players Starting Value.
A Player's Characteristic can not be decreased by more than two points below the Players Starting Value.

Minimum Value for each Player Characteristics is 1.

So, this means we have a Skaven Gutter Runner with MA+1 and VLL which increases his MA to 11. There is no way for him to further increase his MA, besides "going for it". Assuming he's got the sprint Skill the Gutter Runner's maximum MA is 14, Basic MA 11 + 3 GFI.

So, 14 is the fastest anybody can move on a Blood Bowl pitch, right ?

Galak if u read this will you consider adding such a summary to your hotlist ?

Your statements are correct, Toby, and some clarifications/listing of player stats ups and downs and minimums is on the list currently.

Nice, thank you Galak.

So what about the permanent/temporalily thing, is it correct that a Strom Vermin with ST+2 and Horns that used Illegal Drugs before the game can carry out a blitz with ST 7 ?

So, Gutter Runners and Wood Elf Catchers can get 11 MA!? Wow...

You forgot to mention one thing. AV cannot go above 10.

I doubt that you can apply illegal drugs on a player who already has a +2 STR increase (it would make +3, even if its just for one match)

I do not see a problem with horns, for me its like dauntless, it increases your offensive block capability (modifies your STR in conunction with block, its not a stat increase in its original sense) Otherwise dauntless could only give you +2 at max. which is, of course, not the case.

@Zombie,

Thats from the "Magic Helmet" card, right ?

Well, the only way to increase Armour is the Physical Trait "Spikes".
Spikes is availiable to Chaos, Skaven, Miotaurs, Rat Ogres. None of these Players can get above AV 10 by gainining Spikes.

However, is there a Rule that you cannot pick the same Skill or Trait twice for a Player ?

@Narcotic,

Well, I don't know but its not explicitly stated anywhere. I think the way i put it would play ok, since its seldom to get those drugs ;)

Well, I lived many years near the Dutch-German border, and there those were plenty. The problem was that they didn't gave STR or AG+1 but -3 on MA.

Back to topic, I guess your commis has to rule that, I'd say no as you can choose the player and it practically gives you a (temporary) stat increase.

The Handicap Rolles are there to help overcome a mismatch by boosting the inferior team a little.

Considering that, it would be a feature, not a bug, to allow the lower rated team to push their Big Guy to equal the strenght of the other Teams Big Guy, for example.

This is also very hypotetical since you need a player with +2 ST or +2 AG to get into this situation and thats extremely rare.

with illegal drug, i would say you can have +3 because this is only for one match.
the rules statement are for permanent increase IMO
But i didnt know that you couldnt reduce by more than 2 a characteristic..
