How lucky do people really get?

Have you ever looked at some of the rosters on the web and just been amazed with the number of stat increases and double skill rolls.

It seems like a very rare occurance in our league yet I have read some team building strategies that rely on them.

Do your players really advance this will?

On another diffrent note if a player rolls a stat increase they don't want do you allow them to take a skill instead.
In our league we have said that you have to take the stat increase unless it was a double roll then you may take a trait or skill.

It happens. I once rolled double sixes one after the other on a Delf Blitzer who picked up 2 increases in one game. That team also has a a ST4 Blitzer and a ST4 Thrower. If I'd seen it on the net I'd have been dubious.

If you work out the odds of getting a set of rolls it can seem really high. But if you then think about how many BB leagues there are, and how many players rolling to get these more lucky combo's, and its bound to happen somewhere.

the sheer number of skill rolls that are done in fumbbl has made some right nasty teams/players

the aging has made some crap/bad ones as well though ;]

That's right some teams are just lucky - others can't roll a double or a stat increase in ages. I have a table top Elf team with 3 ST 4 players and 3 AG 5 players (1 of which is the same player!) :) However, I also have other teams that are the standard ST 3, AG 3 starting points - My PBEM Norse team which has now played about 16 games has got 1 stat increase - +1 move (not that difficult to get!) and 2 doubles rolls - aside from that its been normal skills all the way.

Well I used to play in the olbbl a lot, and I know a lot of the coaches there will fire players who don't roll doubles or get an upgrade by their 2nd star player roll. It's yet another abusive illustration that they have house ruled themselves WAYY too much money.

And I can also tell you there's a very good anti-cheating mechanism in that league at least, so most of them are legit. They are just artificially high by design.

On the second game of my league i had 3 upgrades with my wood elf team. 1 wardancer, and 2 line elf and i roll the following :

WD : Double 6
Line elf : Double (i can t rememeber which, just a standard double)
Line elf : Double 6

I played a game where between us we got 3 strength increases. That's a lot of +ST.

Everyone was really dubious about it because we'd played at my house rather than the pub...

We had a guy who ran an undead team who could just roll nothing but double 5's and double 6's for his skills. It was amazing.
We all thought he was cheating until he did it with other people's dice. Then he actually started wanting normal rolls because he didn't have anyone with block! His mummies were nuts!

Since i have crap rolls when playing BB i usually get a lot of good skillrolls.
But i mostly seem to roll a lot of stat increases for all elven teams i play.
On my only dark elf team ever with i have 3 players with ag5 and both witch elves with ma8.
On one of my high elf teams i have 3 str increases while on another i have 2 str increases and 3 ag increases.
On my first wood elf team i have 3 ag increases and 1 str increase while on the other who is only 6 games old i got 2 ag increses as my first 2 rolls.

I have played 5 regular season games and 2 pre-season games in our current league w/ Orcs and have:

One blitzer w/ AG4 (stat), Dodge (doubles) and Stand Firm (doubles)
One blitzer w/ Dodge (doubles)

I also watched four gutter runners (2 on different team) roll stat increases in 5 minutes, two had movement, the other guy had one strength and one movement. The Horned Rat was certainly pleased....Gork however was not.
