Was this fair of me? Part II

Scenario:

I was playing with my Goblins against his Lizardmen. During the whole match he constantly forgot to roll bonehead for his Kroxigor (ca- 8 times, and he used him for Blitzing nearly all the time). Either I reminded him before his action or he rolled Bonehead after the proposed action. At one point I said "Well, you have to learn it, the next time you forget to roll bonehead the action will be lost". He replies nothing, but says nothing against it either.

Next turn:
His Skink stands 4 squares before my EZ, holding the ball. He is surronded by 4 Goblins and must make at least 2x Dodges. His Kroxigor Blocks one of my goblins in order to reduce TZ. Of course he forgets to roll bonehead and rolls triple push-back. I reply ok, you forgot to roll, so he's doing nothing. He begins to argue and forfeits a RR in order to keep going. I agree. (Afterwards he wanted to roll the block a second time, but of course he had to take the initial result).

His Skink makes one dodge and successfully leaves the group of Goblins. Because the Goblin who was Blocked is still standing he has to take a wide route and need one GFI to score. He rolls a 1 and has no RR left.
Now he blames me of unsportmanship behaviour and says/thinks I robbed him of this TD.

Unfair?

Not at all, you warned him well enough before that IMO. He must learn that roll some time, and the faster the better. Now that he lost a TD becuz he forgot, I think you helped him for games to come.

Actually, he is not stupid, he was just focused on his moves as I had incredibly luck with my Blocks/AV and I guess he was completely commited to score this TD.

He is an good chap of my, and the whole match was casual and fun, but after this scene there was a fissure and the mood afterwards was very strange.

Maybe I argued a little too "loud", anyway, he did not explicetely expressed that I stole his TD but I could see on his face what he thought. Still feel sad about that, BB should be fun...

P.S: maybe I got furious during that discussion bc he began to argument that there is nothing written in the rules about penalties for forgetting Bonehead rolls.

Well, there is no such penalty for forgetting bonehead, that's true.
But, if did accept it to loose a RR, then that is perfectly fair.
And tell him, that forgetting Bonehead roll every time can be interpreted like cheat...(oups, sorry i forgot...)
that was fair from you, let him learn, be friends , have a drink, and do another BB game.

You were right, once or twice in a friendly game maybe, but eight times is a little weird. Maybe you could have come down on him a little earlier even

Everyone makes mistakes, but eight times? IMO you did what any player would have - and you were very, very fair about the whole issue.

BB is supposed to be fun, it's just a game after all.

You did right as its not your job to make sure he rolls for bonehead every turn. I know how tiresome it is to remind my opponents on certain elements of the game, so i think the way you did it was the only way. (And you can be sure he won´t forget his bonehead rolls next game

Given the amount of previously forgotten rolls I'd say it was the right call.

Couldn't agree more, VERY fair. I have a regular opponent who I used to have to remind constantly as well as getting him to declare the blitz before the roll (so if it fails, he can't blitz with anyone). Problem was eventually solved by getting him to incorporate the roll reminder into his action decleration. I.e he now says "See if ogre is awake for a blitz/block/etc" rolls the dice and carries on. It's been drummed into him and everyone's happy.
