Discuss Fantasy football-style board games - GW's Blood Bowl, Impact!'s Elfball, Privateer Press' Grind, Heresy's Deathball, etc. THIS IS NOT AN NFL FANTASY FOOTBALL SITE!
From the fluff (background information) did you prefer the 2nd edition fluff about the league with the tables, conferences etc or the new 'open format' fluff where teams are more displaced?
Personally, I preferred the old 2nd edition league fluff, just felt more solid than the open championship.. But that's just me

I think that each was best for it's time. I like how they evolved into what they are but wish it was more like 2nd. Though I understand the need to update it to the open format.
Yeah for me my first post!!
No more trolling for me.
we play a mix...an open style with a maximum games per week. come in, play whoever is available whenever you have time, but no more than 3 times a week. Keeps people with no lives from playing 50 games while people with a job and girlfriend/wife can only play 1...
best of both worlds imo

That's just not true. Just because someone has less time available doesn't mean he can't go after the championship. The winner should be determined by who's the best coach, not who's got the most time on his hands. Besides, why play if you know that you can't win?
Pariah wrote:I think that's what most leagues do. Just cap # of games played.
That's what we do to. I call it semi-closed. But we keep the number of games low enough so that most people can find the time to play them. Typically, it's somewhere around 6 and 8 for a single season.

To have fun?

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.
