Following my recent series of polls, here's one to find out how much of a bunch of veterans we are. Personally, i'm probably in the new crowd as i only discovered the game in 1995.

Bought my first BB game in '89, before the Star Players book was released, later picked that up, but never bought the Companion (looked too silly). Been playing BB off and on since then, 3ed, 4ed, now LRB. Hard to find people to play now, 4ed seems to have killed interest around here. Hopefully the re-release of the box set, the new rules and new teams might someday start to generate some renewed interest.
Anyway, I think I played more 3ed than any other edition, seemed to be more interest, more leagues, and more people playing at that time.

Played from 1989-1995, never played 3rd or 4th, then discovered LRB October 2002 and got hooked again.

1988 I buy this whacky thing called Blood Bowl with birthday funds.
1988 comt. We house rule the F out of it.
1989 We quicky buy up the supplements and (cept for Dungeon Bowl for some reason.)
1990 League is formed. First it's 3 of us playing several teams each. Slowly it grows.
@1994 I buy 3rd edition and another coach buys Death Zone. League is reborn and the rest is history.

I started college in 19997( damn I voted wrogn I started in 1998) anyway I went to sci-fi city in orlando flordia( the heaven of anything geeky. If you go to flordia you have to go this store Anyway I went there and saw people playing. Like 16 people. There I also met the closet gamer I have ever met. He wsa like the shaft of gaming world9 not just because he is black muscial and bold) He made everythign cool. ANd he had the WORST LUCK I ahve ever seen rolling dice. If there was a way to lose at a dice roll he would. he knew this and made it so his skaven had to roll as littel as possible or make the odds in his favor. I never had the match fun ever at bloodbowl. Then even had a full size blood bowl trophey for the winner( i think better then the one GW made) and even had a Bloodwesier blimp overhead. You know those blimps you see in airplane magiiznes that really work. Good times Good times. also have the best looking field I have ever seen

I started playing in October 1998, 1 year after my son bought the re-released 3rd. Ed. (Chinese edition) in Hong Kong.

Fell in love with the game as soon as we started playing, sadly have played against few people other than my son (who is now better than me!).

Played in a friendly league in Guildford (England) for 2 years (2000-2001) and was league commish there.

Tried to get a league going in Singapore last year, but failed (few players, very few of them fanatical, little retail support for the game). Luckily my son has not left home yet  .

I'd love to get statistics showing how the game is growing (and where).

Cheers

I bought the game from a imported games store in Madrid around '88 or '89. We were a bunch of fellows playing board games, and i though it would just fit to play a sports simulation.

The game was fantastic, but we were some 5, and the games of the 2nd edition were too large for the spare 3 to watch. So we just played now and then, but never got to stablish a league.

Then, it came 3rd edition, and i also bought it. When 3rd edition came, our group was formed by some 10 of us, plus some 5 or more on the same area who popped by sometimes. We read through the league stuff in the Death Zone (spanish 3rd edition came together with the DZ) and we decided to stablish a league.

Almost everyone bought a team at the recently open GW store, and i painted some of the teams for them.

It was cool. We were up to 15 people, 3 of us had the game, and an extra astrogranite board to play, so we had some 2 or 3 seasons running.

We have been playing at an irregular basis from then on.

I just voted, and so far I am the first person to vote who started with 1st edition! Now I feel really old  . I used to love 1st edition - it was like fantasy battle with card counters. And I really loved the skaven team from white dwarf. That started a huge WFB skaven army for me.

I started aroun 1990-1991 sometime. Don't remember exactly when. I think STar PLayers and Companion had been released already. Wasn't long before I bought them (at GW Oxford St as I remember). PLayed until I left school in '94. Didn't play much again until the rerelease in '97. Played patchily over the next couple of years, then I did a search for BB while messing around on the net and found Blood Bowl Central. Thats about two years ago now.

I have been playing for exactly twice as long as half the time i've played for :D

1994 was when i got into bloodbowl. Got the game and deathzone for christmas that year, and haven't really stopped since except for the gold edition rules when i "paused"
