Secret Weapons
I have seen a few leagues use secret weapons for normal players, and I have a question? Why would you use it if you can't get skill points with it. It's like giving a player Dirty Player. It's almost useless. Yes, sometimes it's okay and try and remove your opponents most usefull player, but with a secret weapon you could get kicked out without actually doing anything. How has this run in most peoples leagues? Would it be unbalancing to give spp's from secret weapons?

My league doesn't award SPPs for Secret Weapons and my Orc w/ Chainsaw is my favourite player. So far he has inflicted 2 deaths and 1 serious injury in the 3 games he's made an appearance in.
Unfortunately he still has no SPPs, but what the heck, he has a Chainsaw! No one else on my team can ever get one, so he's still very cool.

Since most SW's are offensive, I think it would be ludicrous not to award SPP's for injuries inflicted. Those injuries help you win and therefore should be reflected in your Team Rating. There are probably some unscrupulous ways of combining SW's and skills that should be hashed out before they become official, which is why I think they went away in the first place.

So you're saying that Dirty Player is almost useless?Quilwood wrote:It's like giving a player Dirty Player. It's almost useless.?

There's a reason why this game isn't called "Blood Bowl Chainsaw Massacre". I always thought, that the whole idea of Secret Weapons was rather lameYes, sometimes it's okay and try and remove your opponents most usefull player, but with a secret weapon you could get kicked out without actually doing anything. Secret Weapons are Awesome! I just love the idea alone.
Also they are great fun to use/watch!
I do agree partially with the above that the use of Secret Weapons should not be allowed to simply all teams, but I don't think it should be limited to Dwarfs and Gobbo's alone.

And I think it would be ludicrous to give SPPs for SWs ... I'll admit I'm biased. Like Balrog's league my league has had secret weapons (and a LOT OF THEM!) for 2 years .... Halflings have a secret weapon in my league ... Dwarves can get 4 of them (including the Killdozer).dakkakhan wrote:Since most SW's are offensive, I think it would be ludicrous not to award SPP's for injuries inflicted.
A Block, Pro, Dirty Player with a Chainsaw is just deadly and I see no reason that +3 AV rolls should help him get to that state.
I think anyone will tell you that has played in the MBBL2 that no SPPs for secret weapons casaulties is the only way to go and it makes using Deathrollers and Ball & Chain players a lot easier.
