So, what do you think are the 3 most important skills/qualities a good coach should possess? I can think of 5 or 6, but picking the most important 3 is tougher.

- Team selection & development. Coaches who know what they are doing look like they've got a team rather than a collection of individuals.
- Contingency against failure. Don't move players until its safe to do so, or you have to. This includes making automatic moves first.
- Tackle zones/Bodies. Good coaches align them really well so there is no easy route through.

Sense of humour. That's basic when playing Blood Bowl.
Sportmanship. Then both players enjoy the game.
Guts. If you can only stop the opposite player's Touchdown by dodging into three tacklezones and throwing a 1/2 Block dice, then go for it! (This doesn't mean you have to be a suicidal player... It just means that you should never quit a game before it's over).

My DNA. The moment I saw my kid I knew he will become a good BB coach. Let's just pray my wife's Genes do not interfere
1 Sense o' Humor
2 Knowing what to do 1st
3 Playing the team in a way the team should be played

Play to your teams strength, and not its weaknesses. ( For example standing Griff in the end zone then attempting a 6+ Long bomb, in only the second turn of the game, is definitely not playing to your strength, Bye Bye Griff! )
Never underestimate your opponent
Never dodge into 5 tackle zones, before turning over all stunned players and standing prone ones. Even if you have a re-roll

1-sportmanship (kind and fun)
2-Tactic (and luck if you can)
3-having a beer at the end of the game

1. adapt dynamically to the flow of the game and the changes your opponent makes!
2. understand and use the psychology behind the game to your advantage.
3. respect your opponent
Sputnik
P.S.:4. always keep in mind it's only a game

hey woody girls don't have balls, don't you let them play?
Id say a sense of humour being a good sport and accepting your losses well.
If your no fun to play against your missing the entire point of the game.

humorless, gloating, and pouting coaches are one of the reasons i don't put a ton of effort into tabletop anymore... when bb was my circle of friends hanging out and knocking back a few yoo-hoos and pizzas and having a good time, tabletop was great... when it was the store leagues with all the obnoxious people who took it way too seriously, it was something else altogether... too bad the casual games are so hard to keep going for long periods...
one nice thing about pbem is that at least if the other guy is an flower of an undescript sort you don't usually notice

Ah, you know what I meant. I'm usually a little conservative to rack up the big wins that the 'good' guys seem to....
By 'good', I'm assuming we're talking 'successful' here as in 'a good BB coach' as opposed to a 'good' guy to play against? Better add 'ambiguous' to that list on the other thread.
