2nd edition Dwarf team

Post by Redfang »

Hi,

I don't have any 2nd edition literature, and can't find it anywhere, but I would like to know, what the roster for a 2nd edition Dwarf team looked like (what positions; how many of them; what stats; what skills and player cost).

Thought this would be the right place to ask :)

Here are the Dwarf stats as per the BB Star Players Book:

Blitzer----------MA 3 SP +3 ST 4 AG 3 TS -1 CL +1 AV 10
Blocker---------MA 3 SP +1 ST 5 AG 2 TS -1 CL -1 AV 10
Kicker----------MA 3 SP +2 ST 4 AG 2 TS -1 CL 0 AV 10
Lineman--------MA 3 SP +2 ST 4 AG 2 TS -1 CL 0 AV 10
Thrower--------MA 3 SP +2 ST 3 AG 3 TS +1 CL 0 AV 9

There were no limitations on player positions in 2nd ed, but the general rule for Dwarves was 4 Blitzers, 6 Blockers and 6 Linemen. You can replace up to 2 Blitzers with Throwers. You can also replace up to 2 Linemen for Kickers.
There is no such thing a player cost in 2nd ed. You just made a team up of the 16 players of your choice.
Special rules for Dwarves:
They have a special throwing table (not gonna type it in)
When intercepting a pass, roll 1D6. On a roll of 3-6 the ball is intercepted as normal, on 1-2 the Dwarf can't jump high enough and the result is treated as a missed throw.
Dwarves count KO'd results on the injury table as Stunned.
Dwarves dislike Elves. They suffer animosity towards all Goblinoids (Orcs, Goblins, Hobgoblins, Snotlings)

thats it....

In the Bloodbowl Companion you had costs for teams, it started with Lineman cost, in this case 2,000 gc for a dwarf lineman, then you upgraded so a blitzer was +1,000 gc's a Blocker ws +500 gc's Throwers and even mutnats were available. You even bought starplayers for an additional 1000 gc's then rolled on a chart to find out how many and which skills the Star had.

It was very cool. :D :D

I forgot about those rules.

To put the costs into perspevtive, coaches were given 50 000 Gold Crowns to create a team.

It may be a lot of reading, but I can guarantee you will enjoy almost every page of it. The 2nd ed rule books have always been the most interesting and enjoyable set of rules to read.

I know. I still love the 'history of BB' bit. I can read it over and over again and still laugh my head off.
