The Rotters team went too far!

Is it just me or were the GW trolls smoking some serious sh!t when they came up with the Beast of Nurgle? I mean cmon, the thing is absolutely mind boggling. STR 6, Mighty Blow, Regen, Tentacles, Stand Firm, Foul Appearance, and the ability to create new players, EVEN FROM GOBBOS, SNOTLINGS, AND HALFLINGS, all for 160k?

This thing can make players, even from Stunty's (It doesnt say they have to be man-sized), has a record FOUR traits, and STR 6. Oh no, its Really Stupid....big deal! Gobbo's have been winning games for years with their Trolls.

It is seriously overpowered for its cost. It should be pushing 200k in price...Hell, it costs me 180k for the lame ass Deathroller PER GAME...this thing is even cheaper

Did anyone even playtest this thing AT ALL? There is almost ZERO reason to play a Chaos team now. The only thing they have over the Rotters is the Apothecary. WHOOPIDEE DOO!

I still dont see any major changes. On your updated roster, it has an additional movement, meaning it doesnt have to GFI to blitz an adjacent player....more help for the Beast.

It lost Stand Firm and its armor went down to 9....I can agree with that....but it now only costs 140k :pissed: and has all of the other skills.

Personally, I think it is still too sick of a player to have on the pitch. 1st skill he should get is Pile on, then the sky is the limit

I kinda feel the same way. As soon as this guy gains Piling On (Which under Galak's EXP system shouldn't take more than 3 or 4 games) he's going to do nothing but harvest casualties. Oh no he has to go prone! Big deal he has AV 9 and Regen. At 140K this guy is a bargain.

Compared to a Treeman, who is only 30k less, and has many, many negatives, this guy is underpriced. Then, when teamed up with the rest of the very-strong-without-him team, just puts the Rotters over the top. I really hope they do not become official without a major overhaul.

Oh, to add to your post Pariah.....he has Foul Appearance, so every 6th foul wont even happen...he will have 1 or 2 STR 4 Rotters next to him, due to Really Stupid, so they will be able to cancel out offensive foul assists...

Yeah, straight up on his own I would price him at 160K. When you consider the rest of the team i would say 180K-200K easily.

The entire Nurgle team is way too good, the Beast is just icing on the cake. It's way overpowered, and way too cheap.

A friend of mine had an interesting idea.

Nurgle's Rotters:
All players on a Nurgle's Rotters team cost an additional 10k and must take Foul Appearance on their first skill roll.

Not sure if this is balanced or not, but it's definitely better then the crap GW shoveled our way this time. When will GW realize that its fans aren't on the "bigger is better" bandwagon?

This wouldn't really hurt them too much. Most will take Foul Appearance on the Beastmen anyway. Imagine.....11 players on the pitch with Foul Appearance....so much for playing Elfball :)

Well I'll probably get another scolding for saying this but it's probably going to be official. I don't see much evidene that the BBRC is in anyway more grounded than JJ. Their idea of balance is certainly now in alignment with mine. I'm pretty sure the Blood Bowl wll be back to every league playing a different game before long. Well I think I see somebody coming along to all me a trouble making ass so I'll bid you farewell. 8)

Someone please tell me then; Taking into consideration the benefits the Rotters have, why would anyone in their right minds play Chaos???

In the very long term, Chaos is probably still better because they can avoid one fluky death per game.

(This is just a guess, and we won't know for sure until lots of playtesting is done.)

The Rotters team in our tabletop league has suffered 2 deaths (1 beastman and 1 rotter), and earned the rotter back FREE OF CHARGE because his Beast killed a goblin. Meaning that his Beast only essentially charged him 50k. One more kill and he will have made his money back

I wonder though, if they might also benefit in the longterm because they will more time to raise free Rotters. But I absolutely agree that testing is the only way to find out.
