Nuts league commissioner, Part III

We all know, how broken Side Step is.
So our league-commissioner decided single-handedly to make Side Step a trait.
Frenzy with as many Blocks as you have MA is, of course, reasonable (poor Dark Elves).
But the king of all broken skills is Dauntless:
It's so broken, that our commissioner decided, that it must not be rerolled if it failed.
And believe me: The players like it. No, they love it actually. "We've always played it that way!" "Why change a system, that is functional?"
It's so functional, that prior to each season almost all Team-Lists are changed completely.

I don't find either side step nor dauntless broken...

Sorry, I just don't get it. Why are either of those broken? And, if either of those are broken, they what do you think of Block?

I've always thought that Sidestep and Dauntless classify as very good, but not broken.

Well, don't ask me, ask my league commissioner...

Ah so murder team central is it? That's a shame, but its only a game.
That said, why are you repeatedly bitching to us? Either find a new league or set one up. The other players seem happy enough so let them get on with it.

Why don't you just leave the league and start your own? I would have a long time ago...

funny that there was no poll entry for "not at all broken".
good skill, not overly so.
in fact, i'll take this opportunity to comment on a trend I'm seeing, that this is part of. Why do we have to weaken all these skills? everybody thinks that "x is too good" or "y is too powerful"...at the rate we're going, every skill is going to end up like diving catch, except people will HAVE to take it because all the other skills are equally lame.
maybe if you just leave the skills alone and maintain the balance between them you won't have a problem. i think 3rd ed bb, skill wise, is one of the more balanced games i've ever played (besides something like chess, which achieves perfect balance thru uniformity)...now sure it had issues on things like fouling, and 4 star players on every team, and so on, but skill wise it was pretty even.
Elf teams, chaos teams, orc teams, dwarf teams...all had different very powerful abilities, and all of them were pretty much equal. Dwarves could use their wealth of starting skills, plus nasty stuff like a bunch of guys with guard and mighty blow. Elves had counters like leap and diving tackle, not to mention better speed and agility. TOTALLY different style of play, but both could be used with more or less equal success by a good coach.
I could go on with other teams...chaos with brute strength and mutations, skaven with what I always called "cheap speed"...almost as good as elves and way cheaper...orcs with a nice balance but mostly toughness and hitting, and so on.

Your commish seems to take the "I'll change D, because C is to good compared to B because I changed A" view.
Why don't you convince him to start next season with new teams and using the current rules set, with no alterations, or better still, tell him to take a "rest" from commishing, and run it yourself?

Yea, start a league of your own with pure vanilla LRB 2.0 - then convince everyone from the old league to abandon that sinking ship and join you.

What is wrong with your commish? Doesn't he have anything better to do than ruin a great game?
