Nuts league commissioner?

Post by Mirascael »

Got serious troubles. The local Ogre-Salves at Highmountaincoast aren't allowed to participate in their beloved game. For us Dwarves, it's hard enough to keep their spirits within tolerable parameters, but should their finest lads been ostracized from the pitch much longer, we cannot guarantee for anything... we even cannot exclude a major rebellion - and you know what the consequences would be: sky-rocketing rates for Mithril on the stock markets worldwide (need I mention globalization?). You suren don't want that to happen, do ye?

Problem is, commissioner insists on "Fluff", since Dwarves and Ogres would never enter the pitch out of the same Dug Out. Is this indeed true in the GW-World? (There were no Ogres onboard any ships in MOW as far as I remember.)

Help! Don't let the Ogres down!

Commisioners often have a tendency to block things which scare them/off. Ask for specific rules because this is not GW policy for BB. Later editions to the rules sometimes smell like favoritism.....

But you have a better overview off his intentions I guess.

well orcs would have trolls instead of ogres according to the fluff, dwarfs will also have chainsaws and deathrollers according to the fluff. you want to read through as much as you can and insist on stupid stuff to be implemented until he gets the point

Bring up "Game Balance" and tell him that this Dwarf roster has been used to good success for what, 10 years now. Taking away their big guy without compensation would be more than a little unfair.

 Maybe you can get two extra blitzers out of it?

Or two extra troll slayers? That would more than compensate!

FLuffwise, he is correct. Dwarves and Ogres asolutely hate eachother in the warhammer world. (and most other fanasty worlds aswell)

So I really agree with him. I also happen to think that orc's should not have access to the ogre, but have to take the troll.

I also feel that Woodelves don't need a treeman.

But if you remove the dwarves orge, they need either two more blitzers or trollslayers. That's fair.

Another matter is what to give the woodelves instead of a treeman. 2 more wardancers? Don't think anybody would agree to that.

I think They should get two blitzer types. But some say they'll be to powerful. Ah well.

Take away a big guy, and you need to compensate the team. That's for sure.

I don't think the Dwarves need any compensation for loosing the Ogre. The only less needed Big Guy on a team is the Treeman on the Woodelves.

Play without the Ogre. You'll only have a more reliable team for it.

You would also have lower casualty potential, and dwarves rely on that.

No need for Ogre's in a dwarf team.

No need for Big Guys in most teams actually.

Get rid of the Welf tree, the Norse Ogre, the Orc Ogre and give snotlings trolls only and the same with 'Flings (tree) and the BB landscape will look much less big guyed

Not that sure. Most people on this forum (myself included) believe that wood elves should have their treeman taken away with no compensation. Of course, dwarves are another matter entirely.

Oh and Dave, i totally agree with you.

that's allways nice.

Now I need to convince one of my regular opponents.

He thinks any team needs a BG. Even made a house ruled Unicorn for his Amazons. Killed it first thing  but it is rather scary when develloped. (but what player isn't??)

Well like the others convince your commish that if he's weakening your team by taking away the Ogre you should get and extra 2 blitz spots - IMO they should get them anyway.

As for Treemen, I don't see why they should get taken away from the woodies. With the current Take Root I wouldn't buy one on anything but a full roster.

If any race should have Ogre access, I would think it would be Norse. Dwarves, though, don't need an Ogre. To be honest, I didn't even remember that they could have one until reading this thread.

NOrse should be restricted to Trolls and Minotaurs.
Chaos should as well.

Dwarfs should get an ogre until a better solution presents itself...called it steam powered Automaton and give it ogre stats.

Wood Elves should keep the treeman, no other elves need a big guy.

Orcs and goblins should only get trolls.
Halflings should only get treemen.

and Chaos Dwarfs should get trolls only.

Basically the ogre should just be a human big guy.
