What Team rating do you prefer games to be based at

Post by McDeth »

Just wondering what the general consensus on what level of team rating you prefer playing with, personnally i prefer to keep it lower than 200 , in fact round about the 150 - 200 mark. The reason being i feel as players get overdeveloped, and particularly one or two players develop a lot faster on teams than another then they tend to dominate all the plays if not the game. Particularly if you get a stat increase early on

Interesting...you can have a shedload of fun with high TR scoring teams..but high TR Orcs and Dwarves are pits of the earth..loads of Guard and Stand Firm=Ugh.
I'm rather enjoying basic BB ATM, tourney style is cleaner than our higher end Wodell teams. Then again my MBBL Helfs are getting to the point where they're starting to work as they should do, so I dunno. Race has a bearing. I guess anywhere between 150-250 is as good a generalisation as any.

While the 100 TR games have their fun the real fun comes when you have those players who have become something special. The AG 5 throwers, the long legged gutter runners and the stoic walls of dwarf longbeards.

After 200 the teams can get a little messy but I haven't had that trouble lately.

I went for 151-200, because I like to have some skills on my elves. TR100 elf teams are just painful sometimes. I don't know if I'd like TR201+ or not, because I've never had an elf team that has got that high... only the Tomb Raiders (formerly MBBL2) have ever reached such dizzy heights for me.

interesting to see the majority of votes are going for 151- 200.

does that mean coaches are retiring teams as the reach the giddy heights of 200+, or generally just get more enjoyment with playing with developing teams.

An example would be in the WBBL, i've managed to develop a Ghoul with +1 MA, Sure Feet and Sure hands, behind a cage oif Mummies and Wights he is prooving to be a deadly scoring machine, with no-one being able to get a block on him, while the mummies and wights clear the way through.

in only four game he's managed to rack up 9 Touchdowns and picked up 42 Star player points ( Orcadis player and Touchdown Savant ). Yet the Team rating is only 155. So i am trying to now balance the side out by developing a few players around him, as until now he's been the ball carrier almost every time i get the ball, due to the fact that every time he's had the ball he's scored. Yet at some point if i continue in this vein, he'll have as many spp's as the rest of the team put together. At the moment its great fun, but once the team reaches 200+ and the Mummies have all got Block/Guard and the Wights have got another skill, the team development aspect is gonna stop as there'll be nowhere left to take them.

in fact i'll probably end up retiring players to keep them below 200,and avoid those handicap rolls.

I think developing teams are often the most fun to play. Starting teams have only a few position players and no skills, but more importantly have not developed any real character.

As players grow and gain skills they, and the team begins to take on a character based on your playing style and skill choices (and luck for stats and doubles).

As the teams begin to level out over the 200 mark the number of skills being developed drops of as many players have some so the SPP requirement increases. Also at this level the teams character is reasonably established and although there will be players that coaches have grown attached to they are not as new and interesting as they once were.
