Is it legal to use your apothecary on your opponent in official tournaments??
I just played my human team against a high elf team. On my first block, I kill a lineman. He was saved. On my last block in 1st half i kill another one. Hes dead, allright. on my last turn in 2nd half, I make a foul and kill another one...an used my apo on him. And we play with Sigurd injury rule. It was the only 3 casualties in that match! I had to use my apo, I felt so remorsefull
interesting, we had a similar question come up at a recent tournament where the answer came back "no, if you didn't want to kill him you shouldn't have hit him!"
And it does state in the LRB the an apoth may
"attempt to cure any one injury that has been suffered by a player in his team"
so it does say his team so my thoughts would be no to your question. But it depends on any house or special rules you were playing, although if you were going to allow this, i wouldn't like my high elves being healed but say an ork apoth! they tend to be a little brutal
P. 28, LRB "At any time during a match the Apothecary may attempt to cure any one injury (including death!) that has been suffered by a player in his team."
So no, you can't heal someone else.
People looking for ways to contain team rating might think twice about letting the apoth bring you back from a death, though...
I believe that you can still use them on the opponent, and we often do it in my league, but for a reasonable fee! Apo services don't run for free around here. Of course, i don't know why you would want to do that in a tournament as deads just come back the next game anyway, so i guess that Gorbit meant a league setting, not a tournament.
Man, that's just low. First, I kill your player. Then, you have the privilege of paying me an exorbitant fee to use my apothecary to heal the player I killed. I love it.

Yeah we do the same thing....allow bribes to let an opponent heal.
The worst part is when I SI a guy, heal him with my apoth for money, and then kill the SAME player the next turn. That's happened before too.
Or someone buys your apoth and you roll a 1 to heal them. almost as bad.

It should be changed. My Ork teams used to make a killing(!) off of selling their Apoth. The woodies never complained when I saved their Catchers(for a suitable fee) after I killed them. I also saved guys out of sympathy after I beat a guy so bad he quit the game. As for the current rules... not legal at all. LRB is pretty clear, your team only.
My chaos team used their apoth on an opposition wardancer once. He was knocked out. We didn't like that. We apothed him and then fouled him again. Got a Niggling Injury. Nice.
That's what he gets for piling all his skills on one key player....
