Deathzone Table of Contents
I'm sure most of you have seen this, but GW have shown off the contents page for the new version of Deathzone.

I was not expecting them to maintain all four Elven teams (it seems the "Pro Elves" have become "The Elven Union").
None of the bottom tier teams are making an appearance just yet- which seems sensible to me. I'm honestly a little surprised to see the Nurgle team making an appearance so soon.
Well, there you go. Thoughts?

"Expensive Mistakes . . . 25"? Page shared with next thing, so not big.
How much do cost other 48 page GW "books"?

I'm more likely to buy this than the new box set since I don't need a giant board or the minis.

Re: Deathzone Table of Contents
Considering Mike and I listed which 7 teams would be in this book back in May it probably shouldn't be that much of a shock.
I have said before that they want to follow a bit of a theme with each Deathzone book. Obviously the theme here is second fiddle to the full league rules, but getting all 4 elf teams in there let's them follow a bit of a theme.
Nurgle over chaos because of the concept art Mark Bedford produced, which is brilliant and even birthed the first all new Star Player. They have hinted a lot at big plans for chaos teams and specialised leagues in the realm of chaos in a future supplement. Can't expand on that, don't know anything else to say about it yet, but it feels like it might be great fun. But safe to assume chaos isn't getting overlooked.
As a final thought on teams, we should perhaps look at the ones they print in this and future books as the ones they currently are working on miniatures for. The rest can be used still, but they can't make everything at once, it's a very small department!
Expensive mistakes and league seasons should give some idea as to the new stuff created for leagues, and I look forward to more in the future.
They said they want more narrative in leagues, and I can imagine ways this and other little tweaks will deliver that.
Exciting times.

I actually do know a bit more on this front and can agree that there is some good stuff planned in the Chaos area that I am actually very excited to see if it happens. I cannot speak of it ... but it was pretty cool.JT-Y wrote:Can't expand on that, don't know anything else to say about it yet, but it feels like it might be great fun. Re: Deathzone Table of Contents
Expensive Mistakes, Last Game, Coaching Staff, Exhibition Matches and Player Drafting all look like new stuff.
Guessing Expensive Mistakes replaces Spiralling Expenses? Some way of controlling high TV cash. Last Game maybe ties in with the 'Wants to Retire' box on the roster and is some form of aging or player attrition?
Player drafting sounds like a way of playing one off matches with developed players. Also looks like there's a couple of fluff teams there too for pick up games.

Re: Deathzone Table of Contents
The discussions I've seen so far are presuming that "player drafting" is for playing single games out of a player pool. Does anyone have knowledge that this is what it's going to cover, as opposed to a player draft that happens between seasons, as in real-life American football?

Sadly, no, they give them all copies of AutoCAD and see what gets produced. Sort of a "infinite monkeys and infinite typewriters" approach to architechture.Wifflebat wrote:The discussions I've seen so far are presuming that "player drafting" is for playing single games out of a player pool. I'm hoping they release a miniature for the new Nurgle star player some time in the near future. I'd love to add a new BB mini to the team I'm currently working on.

Re: Deathzone Table of Contents
that's nice, there are doing a dedicated Nurgle StarPlayer.
I always find sad, this roster has the exact same starplayer access as the roster Chaos.
i hope GW will make a Kroxi star player (this is missing as well, imo)
