Black Library are releasing a limited edition box set of the novels for £50 ....

If you seriously are considering this please donate your money to charity as unfortunately these are possibly the worst books I've ever read.

At first I thought you meant all Black Library novels. That would be EPIC.



However £50 for four books is pretty poor. Then add in the factor that these BB novels are mostly garbage.....

Yes - these are obviously being re-released to cash in on the new Blood Bowl released. So if any new coaches are reading this thread, please do not spend your money on these are they really are not worth it. They were not worth the money when they were £6 a book, let alone £12.50. The first book was just about okay but the rest were utter, utter shite.

To be honest, I got them when they first came out. And being enlish books and me living in Germany, they were quite cheap.
Since I never took BB itself serious, I didn't expect much from them either.
And so, with low expectations, I actually kind of enjoyed them, but to be honest, mostly becasue of the names.

Dunkel Hoffnung, the main character, means 'dark hope'. His love interests name, Spinne Schönheit, means 'spider beauty' and the woman for Dunks brothers name, Lästiges Weibchen, means 'annoying female'. Dunk rides a horse called Pferd, which is the german word for horse.
Really amusing!

But yeah, from the literary point of view, yes, they are in the lower segment of all published works.
And I absolutely agree, 50 pound / 70 € is way beyond a reasonable price! Shouldnt boxed sets be actually cheaper than the originals?

The "Trophy" for the runner up each season in our local league is a copy of "Rumble in the Jungle". The loser of the title game has to sign the book and is required to read it. An extra incentive to do your best to win in the final!

Does anyone has the epub ereader version?

That edition looks nice enough, but yeah it's not worth it in my eyes.
I got a lend of the first book and couldn't finish it.

As already stated, a chash in attempt because of the imminent Blood Bowl release.

I just hope that whoever buys these, he or she doesn't buy it because of the stories, but just because he or she wants to put that somewhere on the shelf at home for pure decorative reasons.
