Festival of BB

Brainstorming time - I was actually quite taken with some of the ethos behind the Bugman's weekend, which was designed to be a festival of BB rather than a competition as such. How could such a weekend (or maybe a day?) be made really good - coaching, painting, converting. How could it be made worthwhile to travel? Would people be interested?

I would suggest somewhere like Birmingham. Easy travel for most of the country.

I have two small ones (4 and 2 yo) I would love something like this to include a Blood Bowl themed type crèche like things so the whole family could get involved in the weekend.

Not sure how realistic it would be but it's the first thing that springs to mind for me.

Throw team-mate practice, that sort of thing?

On the other hand, my BB weekends are a chance to escape from the family, so less non-BB folks the better.

Are we forgetting the obvious?

11 on 11 Blood Bowl matches.

As this would be a family event (despite Darkson's objections) cosplay would be fine as long as it doesn't descend into softcore porn.

Has Blood Bowl themed softcore porn cosplay really been a problem anywhere? IF SO, WHERE???? So, I, ah, know where to avoid that sort of tasteless thing!

Adding to what has been said

- A contest for best fluff addition: could be funniest sponsor, best team ad, best DYK, a fake interview with a current star player, best new star player, etc, etc.
- drinking together
- Anything RPG communities (which are usually not competitive) gatherings make for people to have fun and budle together.

If you wanna make it global, it should be in a city with good flight connections (like London if it is in the UK) so people can fly in friday and leave sunday.

Would be fun if there was an official ceremony where people from both sides bury the "CPOMB is broken discussion" hatchet together. Or a paper-scissor-stone (chaos-dwarf-wood elf) duel to settle the issue. Remind ourselves it is a game to have fun and all that.
