Why is it always the 2+ dice rolls i fail? :pissed:

Pick up on 2+ - FAIL
Pass on a 2+ - FAIL
GFI for score - FAIL

And it's always after I've had to use a re-roll to prevent a turnover.

ARRGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! :pissed: :pissed: :pissed:

I have a super hero on my mbbl2 team. Does practically everything on a 2+, has a dodge reroll, he still ended up prone in his current match.

And the weird thing is it either happens all game, or not at all. Statistical probability my foot. One game, I succeed at everything, the next I fail at everything!

Exactly.

In my LRB Challenge game, I've a clear scoring oppiutunity to run 5-6 HE's downfield at the same time, with only 1 being blitzed, so what happens? Lineman fails 2+ pick-up twice in 2 turns, loosing me the advantage I gained from my oppo's wild animal  .

My High Elf Thrower tried to pick up the ball after the kick off ... 1
Used a re-roll ... 1

Opponents broke through and moved into his tackle zone.
Next turn dodged out ... 1
Used a re-roll ... 1

Opponents then score 1-0

Anyone detect a trend here ?

Okay, my last game, my first move of an important turn.
My ST 4 bloke blitzes up to a ST 3 opponent, rolls 2 pushbacks.
That was not the plan.
Decided to use a re-roll as I really needed this opponent down.
You guessed it, double skulls!

Doh!

Darkson, are you referring to using the PBEM program?

If so, you have to try to be its friend. If you just do conservative things, it's gets a bit annoyed and starts rolling 1s just to spite you - that's what it does to me.

What you have to do is try really risky things and it starts to like you. Always go for a 4+ dodge rather than a 2+ dodge. Only try to pick the ball up when it's in a tackle zone. Try lots of 1-dice blocks rather than relying on assists. The program will love you then and start giving you lots of nice dice.

(Don't overdo it - if you try 5+ or 6+ things it will spot that you are trying to fool it and the high dice will only come up for the Armour Rolls when your player fails his dodge.)

Cheers,
Martyn

ObDisclaimer: I try to do the conservative stuff and I roll 1s at all the important times.

Recover the ball, Quick pass (1) (1) :pissed: :pissed:

Recover the ball again, successful Quick pass! :o

Short pass, 3+, (2) (1) :o :x :pissed:

Yep, you guessed it: no skill roll at game end....

I don't know. I think it's just programmed with a sense of humor and likes to draw you in and make you think there's hope. I just tried to get a score with my gobbos with no rerolls left.

Dodged one gobbo and made a GFI to get an assist set on his backfield defender covering my receiver. Dodged another gobbo and layed the 2-die hit for a push on same defender to clear the tacklezone. Dodged the gobbo with the ball twice to get through 3 defenders and next to the receiver for the handoff and the score. Handoff roll....1.

But PBEM wasn't done there. Scattered the ball to the gobbo I moved over for the assist. Catch roll....1

Still not done. Scattered back to the gobbo receiver who could still move and take it in for the score. Perfect. But catch roll...1

At that point, the PBEM program knew it had broken me and scattered to the ground. Jolly joke!

Now this I agree with:

Dodge Snotling into pack of opponents for Troll Assist: 2+ = 4
Troll Blitzes from prone ... really stupid roll 2+ = 3
2 dice block = skull, dodge/pow ... opponent ball handler falls down
Ball lands next to 2 opponents on scatter
Snotlings dodges 3 times to get to the ball:
2+ = 6
2+ = 5
2+ = 6
Pick up the ball on a 5+ = 6
Dodge away = 2+ = 3
Dodge away again and GFI = 2+/2+ = 4/5
Final GFI to get behind some protection of some of my players: 2+ = 1
Armour roll = 9 against AV 5 ... Injury roll 11, Sigards=4, 21= SI/MNG
Ball scatters NOT next to one of the two waiting players, but out into the open where my opponent can get to it.

This was 3 turns ago in my current game ... yup, its a tease.

Perhaps the next PBEM upgrade could have a big bitmapped smiley face pop up that laughs at you when that happens with the Jabba the Hut laugh loud in the background...Hah Hah Hah Hah Hah Hah Hah!
