Cyanide... a new card system?

From this article - http://www.gamespot.com/articles/e3-201 ... 0-6420424/

This quote - 'A new cards system allows you to deploy actions such as rerolling dice, healing injured players, or bribing the referee.'

Aside from changing the over time rules and missing a load of star players and just getting stuff wrong in the first version of their terrible game, I think this was all they changed rules wise. This card thing they are taking about; does this mean they are changing more rules? I understand you can sign players now as well which will be really stupid.

Are they making their own lrb7?

Or possibly:
Dode on OCC thread wrote:8 of hearts in the Good Karma deck (Extra Training) is a free TRR.
4 of Spades in the Random Events deck (Magic Sponge) allows you to heal any player in the dead or injured box on a 2+ roll.
Jack of diamonds in the Good Karma deck (Team Anthem) allows you to bribe the ref in such a way as you win the coin toss automatically (as well as gaining +2 FAME for the KO table).

Is this hope for the cards?

I did think about that, but it doesn't sound like thats what they are talking about tbh.

also god help us all if they have tried to do the cards. They couldnt even get the basic rules right in 4 attempts.

To be fair to Cyanide, everything that they added to the original game was optional and could be turned off. Playing strict CRP rules was always available, admittedly it wasn't perfectly implemented. I'd hope that they are taking a similar route with the new version, adding extra options but not making them compulsory.

Indeed, if the AI were better programmed then a manager type game could be fun. But for online league, CRP all the way.

Well, they've already said they've added stadium rules, but I can't recall whether they said they'd be optional or not...

Are they making their own lrb7?!!

Nope they are making a computer game that is based on a board game. Nothing they bring in will have any effect on table top.

Maybe if you cover ears and yell la-la-la-la-la :)

People play table top and Cyanide, and in the absence of the BBRC they are the only entity moving the game rules right now.

That's the worry. I have already seen people playing cyanides version of overtime instead of crps. The crap they peddle could be problematic if they make wholesale changes.

There are tournaments that use the Cyanide's Khorne roster as well, although of course not NAF ones.

I can see that at some point in the future the ruleset will split and the TT game will be very different to the videogame.

Has someone from the NAF tried to talk to Cyanide about aligning the ruleset and not encouraging a damaging split?

All I ever see round here is Cyanide bashing. The NAF also bears some responsibility for keeping the wider BB community, including the videogame component, unified.

Would there be any point in this. They will make their game how they want, the god awful Quorn roster is proof of that. They impossed a stupid amount of restrictions on that roster design and the results were predictably terrible. If I were a betting man I would guess the Bretonnian roster will be unispired and a bit boring but will probably fit thematically.

They have cost to consider so IF they are already plowing ahead with their own rules then they will not give a toss about whether the NAF consider their rules or CRP the official rules, they have one aim and that is to sell units.
