***DISCLAIMER*** this is theory bowl, not a how to play smelly cheese Timmy teams

6x Chaos dwarf blockers
5x hobgoblins
3x re-roll
830k TV

this seems really low cost for what you are getting, am I missing something?

2 or 3 CPOMB'ers for your Super Min-Max team?

are they needed? 6 block tackle players and 5 foulers means you will be hitting and, hopefully, getting players off the pitch. Lokis suggestion of building to ClPoMB is the end goal, but as a start this seems ridiculously overpowered. You will get a wizard against most starting teams and you have a lot of skills to start

I'm about to start a Chaos Dwarf team in my league. I've gotten one preseason game under my belt so far. I love Frenzy on this team so I could push players into a den of guard and tackleness. So I have the following:

1 Minotaur
2 Bull Centaurs
6 Chaos Dwarves
2 Hobgoblins
1 Reroll
1 Apothecary (bought after the preseason game)

My plan is to skill up the Hobgobbers as ball carriers/kickers/wrestlers. I'll also probably add another one to the roster eventually as a pure defender. The Bullies will become pure blitzers. There's a ton of bash this season (13 out of 21 teams) so I'll need to break through that with Block/Frenzy/Mighty Blow. Perhaps Juggernaut but they'll be a little slow to level up probably. The dwarves will all get Guard, perhaps Frenzy but again I expect they'll be slow to level up. Since I expect that this team is going to have tons of treasury after I get my 3rd reroll, my intention is to drop Minotaurs who don't get block by their second skill up.

For any mutation skill ups I'm going to be hard pressed not to go claw with the proliferation of AV9 this season, but I don't intend to claw/pomb this team.

It should be noted that we have a random 6 MVP in this league so it's a little easier to level some players up.

I am partial to having 3 re-rolls and trying to keep TV down to minimize wizards and bribes

Yeah, I'm likely to do the same. With the amount of block already on this team there's less of a need. And there isn't really anything I'll be spending those rerolls on other than block dice and/or pick up attempts. No dodging here!

You definitely want a reserve. You only need 2 RR. A Bull is good until you get a + stat Hobgoblin.

I intend to have a reserve, although likely only a hobgoblin. I'm not sure about a chaos dwarf.

Why do you say that? Just curious. It's my first time playing Chaos Dwarves in a league but when I've played bash in the past, I'm always worried about TV getting so high that I give too many inducements. Then again, as I said there's so much bash in my league next season (including some claw) that I may need to build up that reserve anyway.

Assuming you're playing in a matchmaker environment, then you don't need the bulls, but otherwise they turn into very nice players after a couple of skills.

I'd agree that you'd only need 2 rerolls and given how squishy hobbos are, you should get a reserve (or two if you're gonna foul a lot).

(Edit - I think Jimmy Fantastic was replying to the OP, as was I)

This team is not fast, strong or agile. Anyone who picks up the ball is squishy as well. I would strongly recommend BC's.

A Chaos Dwarf team without Bull Centaurs is an affront to Hashut, who will punish you with Snake Eyes/Double Skulls at the worst possible moments.

Seems like a completely different way to play a team, never thought about playing low tv to get a boost, thanks to everyone who has joined the discussion. really making the day scream by :D

I just started a new league playing CDs.
5 Dwarfs. 4 Hobgobs. 2 Bulls. 3 rerolls.
Only 11 players, but I wanted to get the development on the BCs started ASAP. I found three rr to be the correct choice. I doubt I will need more than 1 more.
After my first game both Bulls have a TD and I have an apothecary thanks to the 20k I saved from starting.
Next purchase will be Dwarf 6.

yes this is the correct way to go. Or you could drop a rr and have all your CD blockers. Playing without bulls is probably very effective in a TV match maker environment, but everyone will hate you for being a min maxing scum bag :P

If you are playing in a league you need your bulls, they are amazing ball carriers and the added St is very important against teams with 4+ st4 players.
