That’s good

Its means Moderators from this site can slag people off on AusBowl, even thou they are doing a voluntary role and should be respectful of that at all times.

At least that’s what the preach but do not follow themselves

Yep, I'm well aware of that. I'm still not sure what your comment means, or who it is directed at though.

Is it directed at AusBowl members, AusBowl moderators (none of which have posted on TFF at all recently), TFF moderators or someone else?

None from Oz.

Its a statement on the double standards from members of this board.

People that complain about other members comments, and their lack of standards but instead of talk in private to the people they have a beef with they go to other forums and use terms such as 'ass clowns' and bleat on about cliques.

I am not a member of the any clique (other my league one), i also have issues with the NAF and the way its run but my response has been several long emails to Lycos and Co over the pasted three years, and I am happy to say some of the ideas I put forward, (with reasoning and support cases) have been put into place.

I just love the flaming here of certain members with certain other roles because they did behave in a certain way (I have my opinion and have spoke to people involved in private regarding it, so i will not comment here) but then the poeple that bitched about it, and said they are in a position of responsibility so so so. They then went to Ausbowl and spoke about it the manner they did. If they had not banged the drum about responsibilty that comes with roles i would not of cared, but they made a point of it, then went and acted unprossionally themselves.

To my know they have not spoken directly to the people involved.

For my part i know this makes me just as bad, i've not spoked to them directly, and have no intention of doing it. The 1st 'crime' was what it was, but then its shown the levels of double standards that some poeple have. One rule from them, and another rule for me. Talking to people like that never achieves anything, because they do not think they are ever wrong.

Some of the points on Ausbowl are valid and constructive which is great. Its the petty childish BS thats getting well and truely on my ****. Its a small group and I honestly want to put them in a room and let them fight it out.

I am begging everyone to put aside the personal issues and work together. We have seen some unpleasant sides of people, we can eitehr carry on fighting and destroy the community or work together to make it stronger.

I knwo this is asking some people to drop egos and grudges but it needs to be done.

If you have issues address them in private. ( i know i am not)

If you want things to change do something pro-active instead of havign flame wars on fourms

We can all make this a better coomunity or we can split it into tribes.

Its up to all of us.

Hi all,

It's again looking like there might be a bit of a falling out. So I'd just like to clear a few things up.

Some UK coaches, that happen to be good friends of mine, propagated a rumour that BB IP was being bought by an unnamed community member (me, I think). They did this in jest. This type of rumour-mongering had been done before, by others, but perhaps not with such conviction or by such "known" people. Some forum members took this at face value, some even re-posted to their local forums and were then very disappointed when the scam was revealed. There has been a fair bit of scorn aimed in the hoaxers' direction, and then some people have leapt to their defence, adding a bit more fuel to the flames.

The guys that propogated the rumour were naive to think that everyone would see the funny side and are indeed sorry about causing this fuss.

Perhaps all forumites can take a step back and be cool. If we continue to take potshots at one another, then TFF will devolve further into a rather depressing place.

To be clear - the rumour was not started by NAF and blame laid at NAF's door is unfair.

The NAF DOES have many challenges to face and questions about what we are doing/can do ARE just. The thread about the State of the NAFtion was in fact very helpful (once you remove the insults going back and forth) about what people would like to see and how they view the NAF in parts of the world without regular access to tabletop tournaments. Some comments from that thread, and other threads, are under committee discussion (in addition to a long-list of topics we already had).

What I would like to see – apart from everyone taking a step back when posting, is people standing by their posts. Once someone has been directly insulted, that post tends to be deleted and that fosters resentment and anger in many. It also suggests people can say what they want without fear of sanction.

Insulting posts should be left for posterity, with a comment by a moderator and an apology from the poster (by way of an edit). Then people might start to think twice before writing twaddle. And that HAS to be step in right direction, surely?

In that case I stand by my post and of course I knew it could be read without being a registered user, that's how I found it.

What on earth does any of that have to do with a temporary Ausbowl outage? :?:

You guys are welcome to come over to Ausbowl if you want a chat, we aren't trying to hide.

I would like to apologise for any anger and distress I may have caused in the IP thread. I was only intending to poke a little fun at the many other false rumours on TFF. I honestly did not consider myself to have a serious position of trust or respect, and I am sorry if I have betrayed that in the eyes of others.

I would like to add that neither the NAF as an institution nor the members of the committee I personally know had anything to with my comments. My position is a minor one involving the simple volunteering of time to fulfil basic admin functions, and so I did not consider myself to be 'on the clock' at all times.
