Is it me or do High Elves lack Flavor?

I can see the appeal with all the teams in BB no matter how good or bad they are because they all have some distict 'flavor' to them; except the High Elves. I have played every team out there in some format but them. I'm not saying they suck so don't tell me 'don't knock 'em until you try them' because I'm sure like any AG team they are great but I just don't see anything that makes them appealing to play. Heck, the only thing they had going for them in some sense got taken away, that being their positional names.

Just my sediments towards the team. And if any of the play testers/authors of the being worked on improved rule set are reading this can do me a favor and just think about (test) giving the Catchers Hypnotic Gaze (goes with Eldwil).

Pro Elves were meant to replace them, but both stuck around; similar story with Necro/Undead. The HE USP is its thrower, the best money can buy

There is no "improved rule set" being tested - what we got is it.

Elves with built in hypno would be totally crazy!

I guess they are the choice if you like good guys and long term planning... Haven't played them myself, prefer the other elves.

the key point with elves is passing game, I love them.

best throwers yes but don't forget the catchers, in mine opinion they are great, 8 347, much better than woodies than lack strengh. they key to enjoy an elven team is to have 4 catcher asap, so the 4 of them become blodgers quick and you arrive to 6 blodggers with a skill in the blitzers. the linos have some armour, and the stars of the team are the proud quarterbacks!! never fumbling!!

I like high elves the best of the elves. Me and av 7 don't play well together, and I love the increased mobility that they have over dark elves.

AG4 and lots of AV8 is an abomination. Not as bad/boring as AV9 Block tackle thick skull, but still an abomination.

No sir, no they do not.

Flavour of playstyle? No - AV8 with an elven passing game (perhaps the best elven long-passing game but that's another conversation entirely), abomination or not, is a pretty distinctive.

Flavour of fluff? Snooty, arrogant Princes who like their hair too much - yup, I think there's enough there to work with for theme-ing teams appropriately.

High Elves don't really lack flavour, it just depends how you cook them (secret is not to overcook).

They just don't really do it for me. If AV 8 is the selling point then I ain't buying. And they do best on what you are supposed to limit yourself at? passing? I just don't see it, it's not like their throwers are given a skill you would normall take like say accurate or sure hands. They are given safe throw a loose a square of movement compared to the WE thrower at the same price tag.

There's just nothing about this team that makes me want to even dabble with them, heck: Their positionals dont even have unique names anymore.

I don't mind the HEs. I think that the Thrower is a lovely piece to play. For me he can be the star of the team if built right. The other players... much of a muchness. I normally play Dark Elves more that their cousins but I'd not be against giving them an extended run as my team.

Flavourwise yeah it was a bit disappointing when they changed the names. I even miss the Longbeard title (as does Heff... come on you know you do!

Huff, those throwers have +1av over the woodies too.

Personally I love all the elves and all have a place imo. High - awesome passing game, dark - aggressive good running team, woodies - fast and those damn wd's, and elves - cheap as feck
