LOOK OUT! that guys got a gun!

i play in a fun, old school(in other words, friends who have gamed with eachother for decades having fun. win or lose) blood bowl league. we have a bunch of club rules and a buddy had a good idea about the star players with guns that are used to launch the ball down field.
zarg madeye
barak farblast
nedd killy
these are star players armed with, well, guns(or a bazoka, in one case). suppose the star also bought a "shot" onto the field? he could shot an opposing player. now, i don't want to turn bb into a gunfight sort of game, but its in the nutty ness of bb. and no one ever hires those stars in our league, anyway. but...
i figure the blunderbuss/bazoka would be very inaccurate. so that would have to be figured in. then, what st does it hit with? or should it be that if you hit, roll for armor, than injury? should there be a higher chance for the "send off roll"?
any ideas?

Perhaps a single zone bomb that can't be caught - use hail mary pass rules, always inaccurate, scatters three times? I'd suggest cannot move and shoot, though - the movement phase of their turn is taken up with 'loading'.

I think the velocity of a ball leaving the blunderbuss would.be much higher than a pass. How about, you can.choose an opponent in QP range and fire the ball at them. They get a -1 to catch, and if they fail they are knocked over and you roll armour. The tradeoff is that if they catch then the opponent has the ball, either way its a turnover unless it scatters.to one of your players.

It could also be use as a high stakes second pass to one of your own players :)

What about the force of the blast kicking back the shooter? Perhaps knocking him down (roll for armour and injury as normal)? :)

Was there not a drawing of Barik doing just that? I think it was to Withergrasp.

Of course this was a point blank range so it would be pretty nasty to get hit bang on with the ball, especially if it was one of those spiked ones.

Have the blunderbuss be able to "block" with the ball.. Qp=Str4 Sp=Str3 Lp=Str2 Lb=Str1.. no +1 to catch roll, but if the player is not knocked over they can try to catch.

Could also have him pack one 'shot' in per drive without the ball, since there really isn't any tactical reason you would ever shoot the ball at the opponent rather than move/pass it away from them :)

At the end of the drive, he gets banned...unless the NRA says that "Blunderbusses don't kill people". (i.e. roll 4+, or 2+ in the USA)

blunderbus'es don't kill people, PEOPLE kill people. i think my buddy heff just came up with a new bb advertisment. something like:

in fine print) in these times of great gun violance, and in light of the recent mayhem, please remember BLUNDERBUS'ES DON'T KILL PEOPLE, PEOPLE KILL PEOPLE!.
this has been a holiday message from the NRA.
