You should try living in Australia. They are charging $125 AUD for those 4 minis. At the current exchange rate that equates to about £81.50!!!

I know that you can expect them to cost a little more due to having to pay licensing fees for The Hobbit but, even taking that into account, the price is stupidly high.

GW Strategy: Metal prices are rising and making things too expensive. Solution? Switch to the world's most precious resin/plastic blend and raise prices twofold anyways. You're welcome, customers!

Reaper Strategy: Let's run some test releases of this Bones line and charge $3 for a troll-sized model. Now let's run a crazy good Kickstart deal to get this new process into full swing. Oh look, we raised $3 Million dollars. Enjoy a huge line of cheaper-than-20-years-ago minis, customers!

So,
With GW you can get 4x human-sized minis for $75
With Reaper Bones you can get 25x Troll/Ogre sized minis for $75

But, to be fair, GW is basically all about the multi-part plastic kits. No one in the market even comes close to rivaling just how awesome their multi-part plastic kits are. There's no better way to cheaply kit-bash a unique Blood Bowl team than grabbing a plastic boxed set and some bits (and it will be cheaper than picking up a metal team from just about anywhere). And for that, I'll always love GW.

I dunno about that, with their regular price rises and sneaky re-boxings then GW plastics are getting pretty expensive. Warhammer elite boxed sets are now over £25 for 10 as standard, whilst core are £15 for 10.

LOTR plastics used to be really cheap as they tended to be 1 piece models and were not always that great but they have all gone up in price per model. Some of those were stealth rises where they now give you less models for your money.

I could be wrong but.... that isn't even a full and accurate representation of the White Council?

Radagast the Brown should be there, surely? Plus or minus others.

Unless you're in Australia, in which case you can get 2 1/2 minis for $75.

Podfrey, while that mini you linked to is on a 25mm base, I think he is bigger than Gandalf and the others by quite a bit. In any case though, it's still stupidly high for a mini (assuming the price wasn't an error). He is currently $40 AUD on the GW Australia website.

In NZ that figure is $50 - or £25. Shocking.

Re the white council. There are 7 istari , Celeborn, Galadriel, Elrond, Cirdan...

And that is off the top of my head. There may have been more, or fewer attendees for that particular meeting though.

Yeah I saw some peeps proper whining about this on a local gaming forum, not undeservedly so.

The following views aren't new but then neither is GW price gouging of old games (or new ones for that matter):

GW are a completely ridiculous and backwards company and yet they still get so much support for reasons that aren't entirely clear to me from a fanbase that seems to hate what they do. When you haven't released a solid game in over 10 years (Dreadfleet was garbage with overtly randomised rolling and I won't even start with the power creep of Warhammer and Warhammer 40k in order to sell miniatures) what does that say about your company?

With Blood Bowl we are very lucky to have a committee who regulates rules. As long as we keep supporting the fantastic Blood Bowl modellers and retailers we and show other communities like Necromunda, and the creation of the likes of their community rules pack, and pray for as little interference from GW as possible, we can keep calm and carry on ignoring this ridiculousness.
