Pretty Much what it says in the title, anyone read them? Are they worth buying?
Cheers!

Don't expect character development. Or > 25% of the books to be on the pitch.
They are a good bit of fun though.

The first book was okayish. The one about the Far Albion Cup was shite though. I gave them away soon as I'd read them.

#1 was poor, and was the best of the bunch.
Definitely not worth that price.
Oh, and there's a Search button for a reason:

Read 'Feudball' if you want good fantasy football 'literature'.
Available through Impact! IIRC. Well worth the money, very decent read. Better than 98% of all the BL books out there, too.

I thoroughly enjoyed all the BB books.

I'm an avid reader of a huge range of writers, James Patterson, dean koontz, Harlem coben, Anne rice to name but a few. That does not mean my opinion is any better than anyone else's, everyone has their own tastes. But I do love a good book.
As for the blood bowl novels, they are a light hearted jaunt into the adventures of main character dunkel hoffnung and his association with the Bad Bay Hackers. Ive read them twice and enjoyed them as a light read between heavier novels. They are cheesy, but good fun.
If you can get some cheap copies then I say go for it. If you don't enjoy you can always sell them on.

A few years ago I was given a free
signed copy of the trilogy.
I immediately passed it on to the next guy. Just the same as the chain of people who had just passed the book on to me... it was like pass the parcel without wrappers or nice things inside

Quite liked the first one. The rest were poor, though the third was tolerable.
The comic is OK if you can cope with the art style.
I'm glad I've read them...but I wouldn't recommend doing so.

As Mentioned, the comic was great. Lots of gore and crazy Blood Bowl Stuff.
The books are well... ok. But don't expect to much from them and you will be entertained.

The books are ok. The first one is a bit of fun, the second is well alright-ish (it was the worst one really it is worth a read once), the third has the most BB action on pitch. I've got them and I have enjoyed reading them more than once.
They are not special books but they do have the fluff of BB down to a fine art and will give you some ideas for background if you play in a league.

We force the loser of our championship game to read one every season and then sign the thing. It has a lot of signatures now, including mine. I read it on a flight a few years ago and it felt like the flight was twice as long.
I think it was Rumble in the Jungle. I do own the graphic novel and it's okay.

Disagree strongly - the have a
passing resemblance to BB fluff, but they're not "down to a fine art" by any stretch of the imagination.
Any league based of them will need to be heavily house-ruled.

I wasn't meaning to base a league on it, but the ideas were ok about player recruitment, players into the crowd (and passed over the top to their death), Goblin book makers etc. I liked all that background stuff.
I would still go back and read them again to get some team fluff ideas or match incident ideas for reports.
I'd never base my league around it otherwise you'll have a nice set of mix raced teams with no structure.
I may be a bit sad but I enjoyed the 1st one. The second one not so much.
