...has arrived here at Wodell. And very funny it is too! The entire climax of the final is all there, and some classic quotes.
Those of you coming around tomorrow will be able to have a look!
Big thanks to longshot for mailing us a copy over, might look into maybe getting it put onto CD and editing it after Xmas, I'm sure a few of you would like a copy.

Any chance you could digitize it and put it online?

Heh, the "early morning, I need another coffee and another cigarette get that goddamn camera out of my face" interview
I probably get the record for the number of glances directly into camera. Rather disconcerting it was
Looking forward to seeing it, shame I'm missing the Wodell Invitational. I wanted to see my famous quote

Just watching the crucial play of the final...Marcus' ball carrier goes down, ball scatters to Sputnik, he doesn't get the required 6, the ball bounces off prone players three times running before Marcus flubs a chance to grab it on a 6, Sputnik then flubs a chance to catch it in turn with a Saurus before it finally comes to rest clear of all Skaven TZs, a lurking skink picks up the loose ball and is away up the field, thank you very much.
As for digitizing it, I'm completely in the dark. Size could be a problem, even allowing for fairly heavy editing I reckon there's still a solid 45 mns there. I know SFA about it, if anyone with more of a clue would like to share some info, I'll see what can be done. Failing that I could always take a copy to Res.

Yeah but 20 of those 45 minutes are just Sputnik shaking dice around in his leather cup

The 'pause' before lifting the cup was quite dramatic!
I actually heard a complaint that everytime the cup hit the table, all the figs on the next game were moving a square due to the shockwave!
I hope Sputnik gets a ticket for the BB, but we'll have to 'finger' him to customs and see if they can't confiscate the leather cup on the way in!
Sputnik's Leather Cup, already a part of BB folklore, you gotta laugh!

I've got a vidcap card but I really need a HD that doesn't do thermal recalibration. Could meet someone half way with the vidcap card....

I would like to see it, too!

Strange enough. Since my skinks barely moved. They all must have had stand firm!
This is what I call 'solid play'!!
What you could see on the next game table must have been some 'shaky play' instead.

I actually have two of them, an 'official' one for the customs which surely looks suspicious enough so that the officers won't search anywhere else and THE real one and only special leather cup for 'solid play'.
And indeed I hope to get a ticket somehow and see you there!

ok i know a fair whack about pcs but i have never heard about thermal recalibration with regards to HD (i guess you mean hard drives)
As for the actual encoding divx would be the best bet i would think.

They call them "multimedia" or "AV" harddrives. Normally a HD will make minor corrections to the internal calibration of the disk to account for temperature changes. When they do this during a read/write operation, the operation is momentarily suspended while the recalibration occurs. When you're using your disk normally you dont' notice it. When you're streaming video it means the recording freezes for a few frames while it recalibrates.
AV drives don't perform recalibration while the disk is reading or writing so you dont' get those gaps.
Now, I dont' have such a drive so I can't do decent vidcap. I might see what St Nick has in the stocking....

What we really need is somebody with one of these thingies:
http://www.miglia.com/
I ain't got a spare £350 kicking around though!

I guess there's pro places that'll do it for a fee though?
Sputnik: I might get one myself, I reckon the 'irritation factor' has to put off your opponents!
NAF dice shakers anyone?
