Toby said "50% like stars, 50% don't."
Let's see if that's true.

I was hoping for a "No, and may they burn in the fires of mediocrity" option, but I guess I will have to settle for a simple no.
I like the miniatures and have quite a few of them as we tend to use them instead of regular figures to denote those of our players with weapons or multiple skill levels, never as star players, we have no need of a crutch to prop up weak gameplay.
I must now go and have a stiff drink immediately to get this taste out of my mouth.

I LOVE my Grim Ironjaw Model...I love the Zug Model (beats the crap out of the Griff model. He has an Albatross on his head.).
I loathe star players with the fire of a million suns.

Can you please add the question / clarify weather they would liked to be seen as permanet team members again.
Please add the option:
"I don't like to see the currently availiable 3rd Edition Star Players as permanent team members, they would screw up game balance. To include Star Players permanently on Teams they would need to be redesigned and balanced to fit LRB."

Toby,
why don't you start a poll with the question
Do you think Star Players need redesigning/balancing in line with the latest rule set
option A: Yes, please detail you ideas
option B: no I like them just as they are
option c: No burn them and use the melted models to make rings for my gothic friends
lets see what response you get and whether it is 50/50

I think by answering no, then people have said they dont want them part of the permanant roster.
I Vote No, of course, although like others i use the models to replace others for variety, ie Griff's model doubles for my best human lineman etc etc etc.

i dinnt want to start a poll on the same topic twice.
If you dont like stars, then dont buy one. But let me play my Griff

The only thing that must be made sure is that you do not suffer a disadvantage by not using stars. In fact, it should be a slight disadvantage to actually use them, because building your own is more difficult and should be rewarded.

Although we are discussing the same subject "Star Players" it isn't really the same question
Do you like them versus Do you think they need changing?
anyway I'll leave it in your court.

I obviously voted no. I think it's pretty perfect as it is, you'll still see them on rare occasions, usually in the big games, which is exactly as it should be IMO.
Permamently on the roster? Absolutely no way.

GO AHEAD.
JUST USE A HOUSE RULE.
Like I said, your rules seem fine - but I wouldn't want to use them myself.
This is not a very tricky concept.

Well, no. Because normally in a league they aren't used as they suck up the SPP's. But then they get hired in the important finals, and can tip the balance of those games.

Why dont you house rule NOT to use them ?
Isnt it much easier to CUT OFF something rather than creating an addition ?
All BB Extra rules are OPTIONAL by the very words of the LRB text. If you dont like Fouling, dont use it. If you dont like Stars, dont use them. Taking something OUT that U don't like for ALL people is just plain wrong.

I voted no. I am under the impression that everyone is voting based upon the current rulings of stars. Basically, stars are too powerful to be permanent members of the team - and they suck up SPPs, Stars are also too expensive for one off games for the teams who will need them - the underdog.
